Anybody check out the new Smoke DZA and Harry Fraud album "He Has Risen"? Nice little album. Apparently he has another one dropping later this year produced entirely by Pete Rock.

There's talk on twitter circulating that Phife Dawg has died. It hasn't been 100% confirmed yet but oh god please don't be true.

EDIT: Dammit it's true:

RIP Phife

Well Drake realeased Views. I thought it was pretty much what you would expect from a Drake album. I thought some of the songs where good but most of it was just ok for me.

Masta Ace's new track is phenomenal. Not on YouTube yet (Young Black Intelligent).

J Dilla's new album is amazing. Who knew he could rap so well?

I'm actually liking this new Aesop Rock album. And he's always been hit and miss for me:

For those of you who have never head of Aesop before I can definitely tell you that his style is not for everyone.

So... blood sandwich is pretty chill. Actually, probably the best song I heard on there. I like those kinda tracks when he raps, similar to Daylight.

Aesop's always been a background favorite of mine, and man, this album slays IMO. Him and Del hold a similar place in my heart.

Freddie Gibbs and Madlib are doing a another album together:

I'm really looking forward to this. Their last album together was easily my favourite album of the year for 2014.

Mac Miller has a new album coming out tomorrow. If the rest of the album is anything like "We" and "Dang" I'm happy with his progression as an artist

L'Orange appears to be the most underappreciated producer at the moment. Appropriately, he's paired up with the underappreciated MF Doom-esque rapper Mr. Lif for a new album (drops in 2.5 weeks).

This one came out today, beats are soooooo sick:

Been high on this album for a few months but only just now thought to go check for videos.

How the hell does a masterpiece like this only have 100k views? Damn shame.

and for fun, here's ad-beat maestro RJD2, Masta Ace and Cunninlynguists crying the death (or at least, nadir) of hip-hop in 2003, which really was a pretty awful time with the exception of about 6 albums that year.

Masta Ace is really dope. He continues to be underrated to this day. It's sad

2016 from U.G. Lyrics ain't all that special but I'm loving the beats.

*edit* bah songs removed from YT.

He was in the hip-hop duo Cella Dwellas. They had a couple GREAT albums in 1996 and 2000.

Track from the 2000 album. So good.
