I think he's referring to next year. Backlund will and should be ahead of Bennett on the depth chart for next year. Bennett goes back to Juniors.

Actually, I think the fact that he played through a shoulder injury and 2 groin injuries (or a recurrent one) shows how tough he is. It also makes you wonder what his stats would have looked like if he had been completely healthy.
