How many points do you guys think Joe can rack up this year? If he gets top 6 minutes, would 50 be a reach? My guess is 35-45.

I'd be happy with 35 and very happy with 40+.

Take into consideration that 1.) This was his first full NHL season 2.) He found his form mid-season after being shifted to wing and I expect to see progression. I think this is a reasonable goal for management to challenge him with.

I'm one of those who does expect Joe to play with a slight edge this year - Colborne in his rookie season with us was more lean than bulky, which might have invited injuries if he played too heavy of a power game. After a season of steadily improving board work and puck protection and an offseason where he's already reportedly gained 15lbs of muscle, he should feel more free to play that way.

There was a noticeable change in the way the Flames played after Westgarth got stuck in the lineup. McGrattan fights their tough guy and they're both out for 5 min, but then no one wants to start crap with Westgarth and no one wants to look McGrats in the eye after he's out of the box. The Flames - not just Colborne - played as big as they want. Westgarth is gone, but now we have Bollig and Engelland to patrol the ice.

Sounds weird but I don't care about his point totals this year, as long as he keeps improving his game. It's hard to expect a lot of points from young players on a team that is going to be pretty bad. If he improves his game or even just plays a little more physically it's an improvement. I like Colborne and think he is part of the solution here.

That extra muscle he added is really going to help him from his "spot" . When you watch where he gets his goals its either on a break away or just of the side on his wing with a crash and bang play.
