My ex gf is working on various portions of this road. It's long overdue in a city of Calgary's size.

I am looking forward to the rest of the NW leg to the Deerfoot.

Too bad the SW leg is not going to be done for many many years.

That's good, because it's a pain to go downtown just to get a hooker.

The rest of the ring road is supposed to open up on Nov 1.

Hopefully this cold stretch hasn't slowed down the last details to be completed.

Should be fine. All the signs are up, I think the only logistical challenge will be to remove the barriers.

Right now you have to go Country Hills Blvd to Harvest Hills Dr N, then you can get on the ring road west.

^ yeah thats how it is now. There is or will be a bridge built from the NE section thats supposed to go right to the airport terminal, however funding is not secured for a tunel directy under the 2nd main runway to be built at yyc. The did extend 36th st [metis trail] all the way to the northern leg of the NE ring road stretch

As far as I know Barlow will extend north to the ring road for access to the airport, 94th will extend from harvest hills right to the airport.

Nope, in a couple years Barlow is gone ( the part that goes through to the airport north of the new Sandman Hotel)

I'm talking Barlow "north of the Airport" maybe it'll be renamed but it'll be there.

Barlow Trail will not intersect with the ring road North of the Airport, only Metis Trail will. Metis Trail is not complete all the way through, The section between 80th Ave and Country Hills Blvd will not be complete when the ring road opens (hopefully next spring/summer). 96th Ave will connect from harvest Hills to Airport Trail - the city is expropriating the land required to do so.

When the rest of the ring road opens up on November 1, the route you would take from the airport to the ring road would be airport trail- deerfoot - stoney Trail (ring road) (most likely), or Barlow - Country Hills Blvd - Metis - Stoney.

Perfect Now we can all have a very long Street race around the city reaching top speeds without lights.

Sorry, they've left at least one set of lights for you up in the NW section at Harvest Hills.
