From what I understand (read: rampant speculation) it is a new undersized game. My guess would be that it is probably less than 10 hours in duration, somewhat like episodic content. In all honesty, Ratchet & Clank sounds like a prime specimen for the episodic model to me.

Also: Fat Princess sounds awesome.

IGN's preview said it would be around 4 hours. Seems about right for a $15 game.

And yes Fat Princess looks really fun. Any idea for a release date?

None was announced. My best guess would be 2-3 months. Still too long, this looks fun and hilarious. To me it looks like everything I liked about WoW battlegrounds, but in a more condensed and awesome version.

I guess I should've mentioned the videos at the PS Store.

Has anyone found out if the downloading movies thing is region locked for Canada? I know I found an article about it being locked to Europeans, but I was hoping that it might be just them. Has anyone tried it yet?

A quick tour of the webs leads me to believe canadians get the shaft for the video store. That blows!

I'm not sure why I'm surprised, Canadian's get the shaft far too often in the world of media and entertainment. The thing that annoys me most is that this crap happens seemingly for no good reason. It's just data, traveling over the intertubes.

This was one thing I was really interested in. Hopefully they will get their s**t together and give us something soon.

It's pretty bizarre, it's kind of like taking New York or California, and saying, "No soup for you!". How do you ignore 30 million consumers in immediate geographical proximity with just as much per capita spending power as the US?

It's been covered before on other threads and I for one don't know all the details but it all comes down to negotiations with rights holders and other lawyery stuff. In your analogy, Sony doesn't have to negotiate with an entirely different set of rights holders in New York/California than it does with the rest of the USA.

I'm just guessing here, but perhaps it has something to do with our lack of a DMCA type law (at least for the time being).

Possibly. Also in the way is the CRTC's insistence on Canadian Content. It's the same situation as Hulu.

Honestly, I don't know how the CRTC even hopes to control content delivered through the internet.

Borderlands looks like one to watch for me.

Some footage here:

It has procedurally generated guns!

What the hell is ultimate band???

I would have thrown Fallout3 (the g4 demo where he builds a gernade launcher and kills people with teddy bears is awesome!!) and left4dead on there somewhere. Also didn't really pay attention to any PSN news, so i'm not too sure what has it ranked #1.
