Flames Sign Devin Setoguchi to one year 750k deal.
Calgary Flames @NHLFlames 25s
The #Flames have signed right winger Devin Setoguchi to a one-year contract ~ http://cflam.es/1oj5kar
I like it. Top 9 RW looking to regain his scoring touch. For those who want the kids to make the team this year, Treliving has never been shy to say he prefers the kids to over ripen on the farm or back in JR. Everything has to be earned. I like setoguchi, I think he'll fit in well.

very happy with this. Local guy and also a rebound project, could be good trade bait at the deadline.

it won't, at least not directly. Different wing ... Sven can't play RW, as was evident in Abby last season.

Alberta native Devin Setoguchi gets a $750,000, one-year deal from the #NHLFlames.

Kidding aside, I'm surprisingly excited about this. Not going to hurt us one bit and he's only 27. Potential piece for future success... or a 2014-2015 note on the Flames roster. Love it!

If I lost out on the Hayes sweeps and still needed to address RW, this was the way I would have gone too.

Could mean Raymond and Hudler stay on the left side and both Sven and Johnny get a full year of development in Adirondack - which I am definitely on board with.

I've been saying we should sign Gootch since the end of the season. I am very stoked for this. I'm just hoping he can find his form again, cause if he does this is a complete steal for the Flames.

The guy put up 31/34/65 in his first full season as a Shark, and has essentially been a 20/20 guy for all of his career. One bad year with the hapless Jets derailed his career a bit, but I think it's worth a shot to see what he can do. He's still young and can be signed to a longer deal if he proves himself this year. If not maybe he can be flipped at the deadline. Good signing imo.

A Raymond/Monahan/Setoguchi is tantalizing.

Thornton was banking goals in off Setoguchi. He has declined in every season since.

Good signing. No reason not to expect 30-40 points in the Rw slot, good physical presence and size. Never liked playing against him either which is usually a good sign. Adds depth and nhl experience in a one year package.

Devin's aunt wasn't lying! Well next time I'm bored this summer, I'll go straight to Orange Julius.
