Post Teksavvy: How is it?

Well, I think the time has come to official say goodbye to the "Big Two" aka Shaw and Telus for internet service.

I've been looking at Teksavvy and Im curious as to what peoples experiences with them has been? I'm looking at the 25mbps/2mbps dsl unlimited package.

How are the ping times? Do they throttle torrent traffic?

Also, I've looked at Nucleus and they look very similar. Does anybody use them either?

Awesome. I've been using it for 4 years, first on ADSL now on cable. Would never go back to Shaw.

How are the ping times? I'm a relatively committed gamer and thats a big issue for me.

edit - Also, are you in Calgary, because I don't see cable as being an option here..

Pretty sure they just resell Telus services, so shouldn't see much if any difference in Ping. I might be confusing outfits though.

Really? I'll have to look into that, I would have thought TekSavvy's service would be the same or slightly more since they still piggy back on Telus and Shaw.

Thanks!

I should clarify, I want unlimited no capped internet. I have that for $50 a month at 2.5 mbps. Shaw may be cheaper than that now but it certainly wasn't prior to me signing up for Teksavvy. As a result, they have my loyalty as a consumer.

Further, their tech support is top notch.

I use TekSavvy in Toronto. They are cheap, have good speeds, and their customer service is better than any of the big companies. I play a lot of Battlefield 3, Guild Wars 2, etc., and have had no problems with my ping whatsoever.

2.5mbps? Not 25mbps? How much could you download a month at that speed? Isn't that comparable to Shaw light?

I'm looking at this now
Teksavvy is $55 for 25mbps down, 2 Mbps up, unlimited

Shaw is $55 for 20 Mbps down, 512 Kbps up, 200GB

This is good to know because I need to find an internet provider in the next month and I want as much cap space as I can get.
