"He thinks that will make him a better player and a more valuable player in the future," continued Parry. "It sounds like we're taking a chance but the chairman doesn't care, he just wants the best for Dale."

Tranmere's home game against Notts County was abandoned early in the second half due to a waterlogged pitch. County led 1-0 at the time but conditions were unplayable following rain throughout the day.
