Bon Jovi to get permanent banner in Air Canada Center
http://www.thestar.com/entertainment...da_centre.html
It is not confirmed that the banner will hang from the rafters like Sundin's or Stanley cup banners, but what are your thoughts on this?
Should musical acts get the same honors as franchise athletes in arenas?
Can't wait for the Nickelback banner to hang next to Lanny's #9

Springsteen has a banner hanging in Philly. Believe it is for having a record amount of shows in that arena. I thought it was pretty awesome, especially since I saw it at a Springsteen show

I mean if its warranted then why not? In the end sports teams and musical acts arent much different in this context.

If it's any band, it should be the Rolling Stones. they have a strong connection to To. Bon Jovi? Nah.

Maybe cause they haven't raised a banner in so long!
A few arena's have them though.

I think Def Leppard should get one for sure for their innovative use of the cup.

Yup, as long as their banner is hung upside down, all is good.

Ken King please read: No Nickleback banners, even if it's found that their hit "Photograph" cures cancer.. Never do this. In fact, call poodlehair, he lives in Vancouver now, give him the number to Canucks Management.

If they play 41 concerts a year there for the better part of a decade and are a staple in the community, sure.

This thread will get more entertaining. I do not know much of Bon Jovi's music but after looking at his discography, the banner should have one of his album or song titles on it. "Slippery When Wet" or "What About Now" would make sense or the song "Bad Medicine."

Definitely in New Jersey because one of his albums is named after that state.

Well considering any hope that the Leafs ever win a SC again is the definition of "Livin on a prayer" it seems appropriate.

"Bon Jovi has sold more than 600,000 tickets in its 17 appearances at the ACC, more than any band in the arena’s history."
Makes sense to me to have his name up there, even though I find it a little silly
