Law gives up three straight hits. 4-4 none out. 32 blown saves last year.

Then Melancon blows save. 5-5.

He doesn't throw very hard for a closer.

The circle is complete. Giants lost 9 9th inning leads last year, which is really unheard of. 1/1 in 2017.

Madbum hit one HR 112.5 MPH, which seems to be a record for a pitcher.

Bad news is that my fantasy team is awful. Good news is that Randall Grichuck helped me a lot today.

Rangers moving to new ballpark in 2020:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Rangers_Ballpark

The Rangers cited hot weather as the reason fans don't attend games at Globe Life Park. The current ballpark is prone to high temperatures and rain delays and therefore the Rangers are proposing their new ballpark be constructed with a roof.

http://texas-live.com/#section-renderings

http://sportsday.dallasnews.com/texa...much-will-cost

The deal calls for the city to issue $500 million in bonds to help pay for the stadium. A half-cent of sales tax, 2 percent hotel occupancy tax and 5 percent car rental tax would pay off those bonds over an estimated 30 years.Voters also approved a ticket tax of up to 10 percent and parking tax of up to $3 at the new stadium

I hate this so So SO much. Globe Life Park at Arlington is beautiful, one of the best parks in the majors; the new ballpark looks just awful.

I'm conflicted, I want to get down to see a game at the current stadium, however I don't know if a trip like that is in the cards before 2020, and I don't particularly want to travel to the US given the current 'administration'.

A Cardinals player got drilled three times by a baseball in one trip around the bases

Went there and watched 4 games about 10 years ago, beautiful park. Goofy that they're trying to replace it already.

Sure, but the reason is pretty sound. Texas in peak heat (which is most of the time) is ridiculous to be sitting in a seat in a stadium, even for locals. Like to the point where they actually get rain game style crowds only due to heat.

I've sat in the RF bleachers on a July day there... I wouldn't attend more than a random game here or there so I can understand where they're coming from.

I don't know if they still do, but they used to charge extra to sit in the shade.

From my vantage point:
  • The Texas heat doesn't affect me watching in my living room, an ugly arse stadium does
  • I really like the current ballpark and I haven't been there yet
  • I'd be curious to see if they could dome the current one
  • Flames need a new building and aren't getting it; Rangers don't and are... ugh

more hitting pitchers

Michael Lorenzen is a young relief pitcher with some promise for the Reds. High heat. Etc.

He also graded something like a 60 for power in college.

The Reds have been hinting that they would use him as a pinch hitter this year, and did so today (he pitched last night in relief). He homered to dead center to give Reds 5-4 lead at end of 6. First pinch hit HR for the Reds as a team since August of 2015.

Matt Szczur just reached base by striking out and having the ball get stuck on Molina's chest protector.

Anyone here interested in splitting an mlb.tv subscription? Apparently streaming on multiple devices at the same time is no problem.

Very interested. Do you know how many accounts you can have running at a time?

Molina repeated "I don't know" when asked about the mystery ball. Said "That's a dumb question" when asked if he put something on protector.

I don't. I poked around reddit and some other places and it looks like some people had like 6 devices running at once. What I can do is setup an account for myself, test it out, and then let you know.

Giants have blown 8 leads in first 5 games. Offence is good though.
