I guess I wasn't watching very carefully, but that makes sense. Crazy that he got away with it though. It's one thing to trick an amateur armchair guy like me, but a whole other to have the commission not catch it.

It gets sketchier when Cormier weighs in 1.2lbs over, magically makes weight 2 minutes later and Rumble weighs exactly 1.2lbs under 205?

Skip to the 3:10 mark. Seems the commision isn't quite on the ball. They also took Pearl Gonzalez off the card because she has breast implants, but they let Meisha Tate fight at UFC 205. Everyone's pretty sure she has implants.

Cormier is trying to say he was just trying to "hide his junk" and that he's never heard of the tactic. Sure buddy.

It's really strange how this tactic managed to work in front of seasoned MMA and fight game people without anybody batting an eye, until it was too late to do anything about it.

It's almost as if the powers that be actually wanted this title fight to take place in the great state of NY.

These people know what's really important. Just because the name is now "Dana White" instead of "Don King" doesn't mean the commission has forgotten how to butter the bread.

Wideman put his hands down because he was in danger. Before January, one hand on the mat could save you from
Knees to the head. Now, you have to have both hands down. The attacker can, however, lift those hands off to deliver the knee legally. The ref either wasn't aware of the new rule, or, (more likely) made the wrong judgement call. It was really close so I wouldn't fault the ref.

Nobody seemed to know what to do once they realized it was a legal knee. I don't get how the ref was overuled to begin with because there is no instant replay in NY.

Just a weird, unprecedented situation.

Default New Professional Fighters League promises monthly paychecks

http://www.mmafighting.com/2017/4/19...k-for-athletes

Quote:
1. Every fighter will have regular fights, no less than three scheduled per year.

2. Every fighter will receive a regular paycheck each month.

It’s unknown at this time how the promotion intends to pay the fighters a monthly salary. It also currently remains to be seen how many current WSOF fighters will be brought over to the new organization.

The inaugural season will run for ten months and will feature seven different weight classes, though, officials declined to comment on which specific weight classes will be featured.

Each fighter will compete in three regular season fights. Those with the best records will move on to a playoff and then the championship round. It’s unclear at this time what would happen if fighters end up with identical regular-season record.

Remember when the UFC provided Calgary with one of the worst shows ever on record with some of the highest ticket costs ever and Dana White said he'd make it up to Calgary and bring a great show back...... Well i'm still waiting for that.

GSP vs Bisping cancelled due to GSP saying his schedule won't be clear until November. As much of a GSP fan as I am I can't blame White. He should have been clearing up his schedule when they were negotiating the fight.

Yep and if Romero beats Bisping, there's no way GSP is going to want that in his comeback. I could see GSP fighting Maia or even Nate Diaz.
