What? Why?
Berra in the minors for depth then? Why make that trade in the first place?
I guess they're worried about Luongo's durability and/or his game falling apart over the next few years. Reimer is a good insurance option in net. I still don't like him.

That's a lot of money for a goalie tandem

Reimer's contract will STILL expire before Lou's
This is a wierd signing.
Especially since they just acquired Berra and his $1.4 million
Maybe they are trading Lou?

Must think Luongo's going to start to slow down? Why get Berra?

AAV is decent, but the term is alot longer than I thought it would be.

Why? The numbers surely say he is, at the very least, a solid tandem player. What's not to like?

I just don't like how he craps the bed at times and struggles with confidence.
Realistically, Luongo will be around for awhile, so you're overpaying for a backup, or you're getting a mediocre starter/1A.
The Panthers really need to start drafting and developing some quality goaltending prospects, otherwise it could be a real area of weakness when the rest of the roster peaks.

This should bump Berra to 3rd-string goalie now

The AAV is good on this contract. Doesn't make much sense from the Panther's standpoint. But this is a good contract and much less than I thought he'd get

Reimer is better than Berra and could outperform Luongo too.

We'll see. Luongo was still an all-star last year.
