That's right.
I'm really pleased they went back to these classic colours. They did well playing in that kit.

So, any ideas for a CalPuck TRFC Supporter's flag? If I make the trek up there, I'd like to hang one and show our, I mean, CP's support.

Good loan signing with Gunnar Nielsen, he'll be one of the top 3 keepers in the division at the very least. Hilarious that Man City didn't have faith in him for the race for 4th spot against Tottenham last year and ended up losing it anyways!

Ouch!
Ash Taylor out 4 months.
http://www.thefootballnetwork.net/ma...3/st160729.htm
Quote:
Tranmere Rovers boss Les Parry has today recieved a huge blow after it was discovered that Ashton Taylor could be out for up to four months due to a cartilage injury.
The 19-year old, who can play in defence or midfield, picked up the injury in pre-season training and has missed all of Tranmere's pre-season friendly matches.
He underwent surgery this week to repair the damage and will now undergo rehabilitation sessions on the injury to get him back to full fitness.
The initial assessment of the injury is that Taylor, who was called upto the Wales U21 squad at the end of last season, is likely to be out for between three and four months. Taylor recently signed a one-year contract extension at Prenton Park, keeping him on the Wirral until 2012, this after a very successful season in the first team last year.

That sucks, hopefully his solid production can be replaced. Also, hopefully the NHS covers that because it sounds expensive.
In other small club news, Sheffield Wednesday has been issued a Wind-Up order from Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs.

Sheffield Wednesday have been issued with a winding-up order by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs, the club have said in a statement.
The action by HMRC relates to an outstanding PAYE balance of £550,000 and the club has been informed that the petition will be heard in the High Court on August 11.

Sad news, but they say they're looking for investors and that they're appealing, they dont want the club to cease to exist.

That would indeed be rather sad. Wednesday is one of the names I remember knowing as a child even before I really started to follow football.

How much you want to bet that this team goes bankrupt and a enw Sheffield Wednesday replaces it with a clean slate?

Could happen but then they would have to start in Division 8 or something! Like the new AFC Wimbledon.
Could Sheffield United and Wednesday ever merge to become a stronger team?

I know some United and Wednesday fans and I guarantee they would say "over their dead bodies" for that to ever happen.
That's pretty much like Liverpool and Everton merging and that says just about everything you need to know right there.

Trouble is Girly I don't think any Sheff United fans are losing any sleep over Wednesday's fate.

If Everton were close to dead I'd dance a jig.

Quebec Nordiques fans bitterly hated the Canadiens back in the day. Now, they all cheer for Montreal. You would have the inevitable gnashing of teeth, but fans would ultimately adapt and unify.

Tranmere Rovers set to offer contract to impressive trialist
Quote:
Tranmere Rovers boss Les Parry has today revealed that he is set to offer Nick Wood a contract at Prenton Park, following an impressive trial on the Wirral.
19-year old Wood, who was released by Sheffield Wednesday this summer, made his Rovers debut against Nottingham Forest last week, when he scored the opening goal and partnered Ian Goodison at centre-back, helping Tranmere to keep a clean sheet.
Wood, who spent a brief period on trial at Carlisle this summer, then partnered Goodison again on Saturday when Tranmere travelled to Mansfield, and despite Rovers conceding a late goal to draw 1-1, Wood still impressed Rovers boss Les Parry, who is on the look out for cover in defence, where he is currently without Timothy Cathalina, Marlon Broomes and Ashton Taylor, who all signed new contracts with the club this summer.
Despite never making a first team appearance at Hillsborough, Wood is believed to have impressed in the youth and reserve teams for the Owls, whilst his family have footballing pedigree, with brother Richard a regular at centre-back for Wednesday for six years before a loan move to Coventry in 2009, a deal made permanent in January 2010.
Wood is set to play again in Tranmere's friendly against Chester tomorrow evening, with Les Parry hopeful that the 19-year old will pen a deal with the lcub soon.
Parry has also revealed that he is set to have a long think on the future of striker Bakary Bojang, who has been on trial at the club for several weeks now, producing mixed reports, whilst full-back Matthew Hollyoak, who played in the 1-1 draw at Mansfield on Saturday, is also set to get another run out against Chester this week.
|
Looks like we have our center defense pairing. Team is starting to take shape.
Keeper: Neilsen
Defense:Goodison and Wood in the middle of defense, Cathalina and Bakayogo on the flanks.
Midfield: Ladabie, Welsh, Mahon, Fraughan
Forwards: Gornell, Thomas-Moore (capt)
Something like that. Goodison is the old man, everyone else is young
