From what I have read, PS Camera is separate purchase. Bundled out to a) make PSVR cheaper, b) not penalize anyone who adopted the camera early.
I would expect retailers to offer/suggest bundles in their store, to push the extra components such as Camera (required) and Move controllers (optional, may be required for some games)
This is really tempting as all normal games will work also but its such a big price tag for some technology I haven't tried. Imagine being able to move your head in just the perfect position, no more neck strain.

If you already have those two things, just the headset is $550 -- still expensive, but more a product of our crappy dollar than anything.

They announced the headset alone will go on sale in 1 week I believe.
I had it in my cart on Amazon, but when I confirmed the order, it said it was sold out.
I then tried BestBuy, and it said my order went through. But never got a confirmation email, so who knows how confirmed it really is.
I'm not even sure if I really want it, so at least have the option to cancel a pre-order. $700 is a helluva lot to spend, but I have been excited about the PlayStation VR since it was first announced, so I guess I am continuing to buy into the hype. Hope it doesn't suck!

Alright is there a coles note version out there about this VR stuff? I was leaning heavily towards buying an XBox One since I don't really play games anymore (after being a total PS fanboy as a kid) but this VR stuff might be enough to make me change my mind.
How exactly does this work for Playstation in your home? I mean this VR stuff looks awesome when it's combined with those treadmill things, but if this is just essentially removing the need for the right analog stick to point the camera and everything else is essentially the same, it doesn't really seem worth it....
I'm not the most qualified to talk about all that is going on in VR. I'm excited about it, but not enough that I know all the games being developed and all the differences between the systems.
I don't think first-person free roam would translate very well in VR. I think most of the PlayStation VR games are more based around your character sitting or standing in a world, and the world moving around them. This tends to work well for things like sitting in a car or space ship, and can be immersive that way.
