He could hit that shot a hundred more times and not make it. That was perfect.

So TheScore is telling me that Steven Gerrard reached out to MKDons as a potential coaching destination.
Which resulted in....Inter Milan contacting him.
Stevie, I have all the respect in the world for you: do not take Inter as your first job.
Edit: My mistake, it was a playing offer not a coaching offer. In which case go for it!

The fact that Bayern lost notwithstanding that was a great match, lots of fight and some good chances.
That being said, that game couldnt possibly have gone more perfectly for Tuchel's game plan. It was like he drew that up on the white-board pre-match.
Thems the breaks. And if I havent said this before, I need to attend a match at the Westfalenstadion. That place looks insane!

we must have watched a different game. Thought it was a total snoozefest to be honest, neither team looked great. From a technical point of view, this must have been the worst Bayern-Dortmund match in years.

You're just grumpy because of the United result.
There was even a scrum at one point.
So tell me, are you pro or anti Red Bull Leipzig?

good question ... and very tough to answer, if you know my background let's say I'm torn.
I still hate them with a burning passion from a Salzburg point of view, but if you look past that, it's an interesting team with a lot of good young players. And it helps that they have an Austrian coach whom I watched play when I was a kid from a pure football perspective, they are great for the league IMO.
It's an interesting season in general, with Bayern struggling a bit and some unusual teams doing pretty well. Personally I think Hoffenheim is the most interesting team in the league right now.

Whats the history between RB Salzburg and Leipzig?
From what I understand this is the first Austrian team in the German Bundesliga, but there are issues because it is a wholly corporately owned team? Which I believe contravenes the 50+1 rule? But I'm not well versed in all of it, least of all why there is so much animosity to Leipzig.
Is that about right?

Well it all started in 2005. Austria Salzburg struggled both financially and on the field, and they would have either gone bankrupt or got relegated within a couple of years ... probably both. Red Bull rescued the club by taking over, but they completely re-branded the club by changing the name, colours, badge, and so on. Obviously that didn't sit well with a lot of people and the fans were basically split in two groups. One group still supported the club, which all of the sudden was the wealthiest club in Austria, and one group completely turned away from the club.
Red Bull always wanted to own other clubs in bigger leagues too, and they especially wanted a successful club in Germany. So they took over a small club in Leipzig in 2009 and started playing in the 5th German league. Salzburg and Leipzig are both owned by Red Bull, and on paper, they are independent teams. But in reality, Leipzig have treated Salzburg as a farm team: taking their best players for free, sending unwanted players in return and basically having a unique opportunity of transfering players between those clubs.
Most of the animosity in Germany stems from a combination of those aspects:
- the league letting Red Bull sneak their way past the 50+1 regulations
- a lack of tradition
- financial strength
- being more of an ad for an energy drink than a football club
- having its own "farm team" in Salzburg
and to a certain degree, it's all valid points in my opinion. And while, as a football from Salzburg, I'm extra bitter about the last point (Leipzig constantly steals quality players from Salzburg and RB doesn't replace them because they give a flying #### about Salzburg since Leipzig made it to the Bundesliga), I still think they are good for the Bundesliga in general. Of course fans of the traditional club go crazy over this "plastic club", but who cares.

That's gotta be one of the highest scoring 30 minutes in UCL history.
