You can't use your flying mount in Northrend until you learn the "Cold Weather Flying" ability, which is trained in Dalaran at level 77. From 70-77, you can only use your ground mount.

Initially you don't get your flying mount in Northrend. You have to complete a quest at level 77 to get it back. I'm sure this will be explained in the story really quickly....

Maybe it has to be taken in for cold temp training or something...

Make sure your video settings are all on high when you enter those flying zones, they are absolutely epic.

Yeah, they aren't allowing you to fly in Northrend until you hit level 77 as they didn't want people to just fly over the content.

That would make more sense than where I am going - Westbrook Mall. But gotta get a buddy first, and that's closest.

Well got my Copy and am Installing currently. Luckily only 45 people in line before me only got there 10 minutes before midnight.

I am hearing crazy lineups. Market Mall is supposed to be 300 people.

Chinook was ridiculous. I should never have let my buddy talk me into going... it was ok though. Got to hang out and chat etc.

I actually tethered my iPhone to his laptop and he logged into WoW while we were waiting in line (to see if it would work). It actually worked brilliantly!

How geek am I, btw.

How is it? I couldn't bring myself to line up just to install the game before I went to bed, I am picking mine up on the way home tonight.

I got guilted into going to the launch. My buddy had put down the pre-order for me, and told me how he was going to go for sure. So I went along. There ended up being about 200 people in line at EB Games in Sunridge.

I installed it, caught the boat to Northrend, became Grand Master in Tailoring, Enchanting and First Aid, grabbed the immediate quests, then went to bed.

The patches used the same ones you would (presumably) already have, at least if you gave played in the last week, so there was nothing new to download.

Just to give an update.

I played till about 3 am and could not stop. Fantastic game so far. We had 0 server issues on Alleria and it was very smooth. A couple pain in the butt spawn rates, but other than that just fantastic how far Blizzard has come in regards to quests and game design. The Quests are faster and more interactive and keep you more entertained than half the quests in outlands.

In line I was talking with a few people who had played in the beta and said they aren't interested in playing a Death Knight, but are going to roll one to do the starting area because that is super fun.

Hey, if people who don't even really like the class are going to play it because of the fun quests it gets, that sounds like a good recommendation.

Yes! The quests are actually quite fun.

I got my Deathcharger mount by stealing it from a (new) human town in EPL.
