Even if Ribiero makes it to the Flames' waiver position (which I doubt - I think he ends up back in ARZ), I'd pass. Too much baggage, and the fact that he gave a great big middle finger to the Flames when they were planning to buy him out anyway makes me think he'd just be a distraction and a pouter, despite his skill. Alex Tanguay 2.0.

I'd say so. Lots of negative rumors and innuendo, and he never really fits with any team.

I wouldn't add him to my team, if I had one.

Ribiero, on paper, makes a lot of sense. He's a really good playmaker. As another poster said, it would allow Bennett to play on the wing this season.

Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik
Gaudreau - Monahan - Brouwer
Bennett - Ribiero - Versteeg
Ferland - Stajan - Hathaway
xBouma, Chiasson, F. Hamilton

However, Ribiero comes with baggage and he certainly doesn't have the much needed grit. Pass.

Marchenko is someone who interests me. I think he's a good option knowing he's younger and cheaper than some of our d

I wonder how a line of Bennett-Ribeiro-Versteeg would do getting a majority of offensive zone starts. Lots of skill there but not much jam. Ribeiro is also terrible at face-offs.

I dunno. The Flames do seem to be short on skilled players and I think it would benefit Bennett to move to the wing and play with a playmaker.

Then again, Ribeiro comes with baggage and he would almost certainly replace a bigger player. I'd be surprised if the Flames put in a claim but I would be interested to see how it turned out if they did.

No way I'd want Ribeiro the flopping loser on a team that I like.

Ribiero is the worst kind of human being on the planet. I'd punch him in the mouth if I ever ran into him.

1. He didn't qualify for a compliance buyout as he signed after sept 15 2012

2. Can't find it now but it came out a season ticket holder event that the Flames were going to give him at least a season before considering buying him out. Otherwise the only reason to reject the trade was to spite the Coyotes into forcing them to pay the buyout

Massive pass on Riberio. Don't want a guy with his off-ice history near my favorite team.

To me he has always been quite the character.

He's an orange toque and a blazer from going full Tyrone Biggums.

Because Bennett is playing center. Which he's not cut out for at this point in his career.

I don't like Ribeiro, but if this team is too weak to deal with him for 30 games when he so obviously resolves a bunch of our issues at forward, then larger issues are at play.

Yah, I'd pass on Ribeiro. Sounds like the guy has big locker room issues. Guy probably hits on all the WAGs and ice girls. What a creep.

Ribeiro is a legitimate sexual predator. I would be really disappointed if he ever played for the Flames.

Not me... he might be younger and cheaper but he's not better. As far as Riberio goes I don't think I'd want to burn what little cap space we have left on him and consequently closing off future avenues. It's something to consider I suppose since he's still a good player.
