I know this. My issue is what items to target. What missions to do. Wow is linear for me. This is confusing.

From blue to purples (vendor or drops), then Raid gear for armor. Eventually min/max your stats like intellect/disc
Weapons likewise but end game is getting the best perks on weapons you want and multiple element for each weapon type for those burns. More cyclical than linear.

I spent most of my time doing strike playlist and hunting public events and just bought my gear using the Vanguard marks. Chest, arms, and boots were 75, each week maxes at 100 so I got a new piece every week... Easiest way for me to get everything.
Fully leveled the Vanguard gear should get you to 31, I'm pretty sure you need the new Crota raid gear and an exotic to get to 32. I have an exotic chest, and 3 pieces of Vanguard gear and I'm halfway through 31.

Yeah, you'll need a full set of raid gear, or 3 pieces of raid gear and an exotic, or iron banner gauntlets, 3 pieces of raid gear, or 2 pieces of raid gear an exotic and iron banner gauntlets.
essentially every piece of armor needs 36 light.

To add to that, the 36 light helmet is probably the most difficult to get, compared to Xur selling the exotic. So I woul concentrate on grabbing that, and the other slots for raid pieces.

That's what I did for the most part. After a while you'll rack up enough vanguard marks to purchase vendor legendary (purple) armor.
A lot of the available bounties can be completed through strikes as well, so I would consider grabbing some of those to increase your vanguard mark pace.

Considering how much time I've spent in MMOs, I am shocked I am getting so overwhelmed by this. It's as though I can't associate this as an MMO and keep trying to play it like a Skyrim.

I rolled a Badger CCL with Outlaw, Explosive Rounds, and Firefly. I are pleased!!!111!!! Now if I could only get the stupid ass !!$$#%!@ Fatebringer to drop!

I've run crota on normal 4-5 times now, and have yet to actually beat it! Every fire team I end up with quits on the bridge or at the death singer.
So frustrating.

Finally managed to beat Crota on hard last night. It was our third night attempting him, but we finally got our strategy ironed out. Once you get the strategy it's not super hard, it is just about running it flawless as one mistake and you need to wipe. Pretty happy as I got the new hand cannon.

And that can get pretty draining when you get close, know you can finish it but have something happen that forces you to restart.
Which strategy did you try? Seems like the one using the bottom rooms are the getting even more popular compared to the window ledge.
