Default Is this the worst camera accessory ever?

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...our-slr-camera

Let's see...

- prevents use of tripods, monopods, gorillapods, tripod plates, and battery grips
- duplicates functionality provided by most pants, shorts, and camera bags
- adds weight, bulk, and awkwardness to your camera
- costs more than a replacement cap, if you do somehow lose one

That is actually really bad. I can think of 100 ways to do the job better with less than that product.

When I can't find my lens cap, I just check my other pocket... and 100% of the time it's there.

Are you tired of not having enough space in your pockets for your lens caps because they're full of gum and condoms since, as a photographer, you're getting laid 95% of the day?

Buy this! It's a rubber thing, designed to ruin your camera. It holds things that don't need to be held, and it's ribbed for nobody's pleasure!

If you're a Canon user this device will barely hold on to your caps. It looks really easy for them to come loose and fall off. Just a silly solution for a problem that doesn't exist.

And yet it has over $4,000 pledged to the campaign. Apparently there's over 200 people out there suffering from a shortage of pockets. Maybe we should start an alternate campaign to invent some kinda 'supplemental pocket based storage system' for these folks.

Don't worry, I'm pretty sure we can just add an extra strip of Velcro to a fanny pack and call it a day.

Don't all photographers have vests like this?

Doesn't fit 77mm filters either.
Seems pretty useless.

Also, this is by far worse and utterly useless.

Wow, I like BlackRapid but that's just sad. I would never buy those just based on the stupid name. And having labelled back caps would make for extra work for me. When I change lenses I put the cap from the one I'm putting on the camera onto the one I'm taking off.

Why would you even need labeled back caps? Just look at the lens. It's not like I spend time trying to find the difference between by 50 and my 70-200, and think "wow, if only I had a ####ty accessory to help with this conundrum!"

The only way those caps would be appropriate, would be if your photo assistant is completely ######ed or almost blind and can't read the small letters on the lens itself when changing lenses while on a gig.

Looks to me like the lens caps might hit your face when you look through the view finder, especially with the larger lens caps.
