Usually you have to wait until the next day to be able to watch the game. I haven't tried this year to watch the game a few hours later.
I'll try it for the buffalo game and let you know how it goes.

Oddly the Roku GameCenter app allows you to "start from beginning" or "join live", while as far as I can tell, the AppleTV one just starts live.

There is a note when you select the feed you want to watch that pressing play will start from the beginning, select will join in progress (or flip, I don't recall the exact buttons).

I just want to confirm a few things from those using NHL Gamecenter and Unblock Us:
-Do you pay the US price for Gamecenter and can you do this with a Canadian credit card?
-Will playoffs be available to those that get Gamecenter using Unblock us (not Rogers costumers)?

No playoffs if getting the US feed, all NHL playoff games are on NBC or one of its affiliated stations in the US. Gamecentre is useless once the playoffs begin, at that point you'd need a way to login and watch NBC sports live extra (no roku apps, online only)
Think that answers your question unless I misunderstood.

Last year all the playoffs were available.

In the US? News to me, my gamecentre had them all blacked out, NBC has the rights to all of it. I'm sure I could be wrong though.

Centre ice is through your television provider. Gamecenter is streamed over the Internet, directly from the NHL, though branded as Rogers GCL in Canada.

Finally cut the cord.
Using a combination of legal and not so legal means to get a lot of TV.
Live OTA with outdoor RCA antenna $60
Get CBC, CTV, CITY, NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, PBS
DVR for OTA channels $45 (had USB hard drive already)
Android TV box ($100) with XBMC and various plugins basically limited to Genesis (TV and Movies) , Phoenix (NHL gamecenter) and Sportsdevil (other live sports).
Zero subscription fees, but not all legal.
Could not be happier with the OTA setup. The quality is amazing.

Yeah.. Makes a big difference.
South shore of Montreal.
Well within range of US towers in Vermont, with a small outdoor antenna. Of the American channels, could only pull in PBS with indoor antenna.

Forgot to report back.
I tried the Buffalo game right after the game ended and it worked for me on my Computer.
I did not try it on my Apple TV.

I bought this one:
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX49663
I haven't played around with it too much, but it doesn't work as slick as a Shaw or Bell PVR. It does do the job of recording.
You can also use a Bell PVR if you have access to one, and use it as the tuner.

I bought same one, from here:
http://m.newegg.ca/Product/index?itemnumber=82-576-003
36.99 plus shipping and tax. Less than $45, delivered purolator. Just arrived today, apparently. I haven't played with it yet. Will report back. I am not really expecting to get get a whole lot more value than I paid for, but can't beat the price

Regarding the Homeworx DVR:
It works as one might expect.
The tuner is OK, maybe a bit weaker than my Samsung TV.
The guide is OK actually. Good even, for ota. There is no info for the programming, but it shows maybe the next 8 hours, but only channel by channel.
The interface in clunky and a bit buggy, is not entirely intuitive, but is OK. initially the guide was 3 days off, but emailing the manufacturer got me next day updated firmware that solved this issue, and perhaps others.
It does a decent job or doing what it is supposed to - record programming in the future from the guide.
Quality of the recorded program is excellent and is not scrambled. It will also play most other video files that you have on your own external hard drive, that connects via USB.
Recorded programs are names by channel, date and time, not program name. You can rename - it is somewhat confusing if you don't.
If you want to record TV, like you did back in the day with a vcr, this works like that for OTA, only better (because of guide).
If you want something like a modern provider PVR, this isn't it.
I am very happy with the value, given the cost.

So I finally cut the cord after bouncing back and forth on this for ages, feels good man.
A few questions for NHL Gamecenter I just got it and am very impressed with the quality honestly, I'm using my PS3 to view it.
Question, is there anyway to get audio in 5.1, so far I can't seem to get it on anything but my front/centre speakers? If not through PS3, any other systems/apps to get 5.1 audio?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
