I'm thinking it's the younger Philadelpia detective that's following Mike. It's official, I dislike Chuck. Can't wait for next season. Great series.

Yeah, Chuck just has zero redeeming qualities.

Im thinking it is someone with Gus Fring (but probably not Gus himself) and this is how Mike ends up getting connected with Fring... They might have even just caught him there by coincidence when they were watching the cartel.

^ yep, that makes more sense. One of the things that is unresolved is that the older detective knew Mike was guilty of killing the Philly cops.

Chuck had to be dishonest to get the evidence he needed to make his case against Jimmy. So much for your high horse, Chuck.

I am guessing that Ernesto is Fring's son or nephew.

I kind of hope the show doesn't go down the "There's two black characters -- of course they're related!" path.

EDIT: Still, I admit I hadn't considered the possibility. And I see we don't know Ernie's last name, at least not based on my quick search. Hmmm.

Maybe nephew, maybe companion? I thought during BB it was implied that he was gay?

Who's handwriting? Did that look like Fring's?

Can't wait for the insider podcast tomorrow.

Jimmy is getting more and more Saul-like in appearance.

Tremendous acting by McKean - really moving when he arrived in Emergency.

We were thinking this is when Tio gets crippled, but no.

Gimme Jimmy!

I thought the payoff to the finale was quite predictable but a great ending to the season nonetheless. Although I have to think that recording would be meaningless in court. Wonder what chuck plans to do with it. If jimmy gets convicted of all that stuff itd be hard to continue to practice in BB. Maybe black mail? Use it to drive away Kim? But she clearly knows already, so not sure how that'd matter.

I thought they would keep Chuck in a coma for a few episodes at least.

It's more than they are both black. They have given Ernie the same posture, style of dressing, mannerisms, and physical resemblance to Fring. Collectively, all these little hints are too much of a big hint that Enest and Fring are somehow related.

I don't think he looks like Fring at all other than wearing glasses.

Ernesto...
Gustavo...

At this point, pollos Hermanos is likely an established restaurant chain. I'm surprised we haven't seen cameo appearances of the restaurant in the background somewhere.

I am guessing that Chuck's evidence will do little more than ruin Jimmy's name and reputation...thus transforming him into Saul Goodman.

McKean's character is the perfect antagonist to this show.

I think Chuck will make a deal that Jimmy has to change his name and for all intents and purposes not soil the McGill name any further In exchange for not giving that tape to the authorities. I don't see any other way that Jimmy could stay in Albuquerque if Chuck did hand the evidence over.

good finale. So instead of killing off Chuck they set him up as the main antagonist for season 3. Not too surprised that Chuck stabbed Jimmy in the back at the end, but I didn't expect the recorder ... it's an evil electronic device after all! Actually expected Hamlin coming out from behind the foil instead.

thought the Mike scenes were great too ... probably every single fan thought "so that's how Tio ends up in the wheelchair" when Mike laid there in the desert. A bit disappointed that Fring didn't make an appearance, but pretty sure he'll be heavily involved in the next season.

Chuck is a horrible person that doesn't deserve friends, a job or anything else. At this point I blame Jimmy for getting fooled over and over again.

Mike is always such a cool customer...interesting to see him truly rattled for once.

In hindsight I'm a little surprised they used the oft-used "oh snap, they were being recorded!" plot device, but I didn't see it coming until Jimmy said it was his word against Chuck's.

Excellent season, love this show

Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould

http://www.amc.com/shows/better-call...m_campaign=BCS

PG: In some ways, I think what Chuck does [at the end of Season 2] is the worst thing that he’s ever done because he preys on Jimmy’s guilt and empathy. He uses Jimmy’s love for him. You have to wonder how he justifies it. I don’t think Jimmy fully understood the impact of his act of sabotage. The tragedy is that Jimmy and Chuck are brothers, but they don’t really understand each other and keep hurting each other as a result. Jimmy doesn’t understand how important the law is to Chuck and how little Chuck has in his life. Chuck also can’t see that Jimmy’s intentions, however he executes them, are usually pretty good.

VG: I think [Chuck’s betrayal of Jimmy] that we discovered at the end of Season 1 is, in a sense, the biggest betrayal. It is the wellspring of all other terrible behavior that follows. As much as I love Jimmy, I think it’s pretty reprehensible what he does to Chuck [in Episode 208]. We see Chuck’s embarrassment, his awful humiliation and the damage to his reputation and career as an attorney. Chuck, of course, plays this amazing long con on Jimmy and in that moment, he’s a better con man than Jimmy. [Laughs] What a terrible state of affairs this brotherly relationship is in at the end of Season 2.

PG: They are really two sides of the same coin. In some ways, if you could put them both together, you’d have a pretty perfect person. [Laughs] They both have empty spaces inside of them and we’re fascinated by how they got that way. One of the privileges we give ourselves on this show is to go back and forth in time. A lot of people disliked Chuck, but in Season 2, we get a little bit of his side of things. It’s like sympathy for the Devil, for lack of a better phrase.
