JOB OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Manager, Mining Growth, Regulatory and Standards, the Senior Engineer, is responsible for the development of long-term mine and/or tailings plans for various assets.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES- Developing overall regional integrated plans, including: material balances, oil sand and overburden scheduling and placement sequencing, road design, surface water management plans, equipment and infrastructure requirements, etc.
- Provide input to structure designs, pit wall designs, and drilling program development
- Accountable for life of mine plans and strategies
- Accountable for integrated Annual Long Range Mine and Tailings Plan
- Overseeing and participating in planning and design work carried out by consultants
- Developing regulatory submissions
- Developing equipment requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:- 5-10 yrs open-pit Mine Engineering experience; Oil sands experience preferred
- Current APEGGA P.Eng designation, or ability to achieve in one year or less
Skills and Knowledge:- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to think strategically
- Strong team skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Expert-level Mine Design software skills (Mincom or other)
WORKING CONDITIONS- This is a Calgary-based office position, with required occasional travel to the site.
