Size aside, he has everything you would want in a player.

Justin is also 11 days from being a 2025 pick so one of the youngest players in the draft, I read somewhere his brother grew something like 5 inches from 17 to 19, he's already a handful to get off the puck and no guarantee of course but he just might get bigger.

Poirier looks like a fantastic early 2nd rounder. Hell, if you took him with our Van pick I would not be upset.

Justin is definitely worth a 3rd or later pick if he's there.
Watching his highlights he almost reminds me of a young Johnny but with a better shot.
5'8 and if he grows 3-4 inches then he'd be in good shape as a playmaking forward.

A late third round or early fourth round pick is more appropriate

It's a shame that Michael Hage was left off the u18 roster. It would have been a nice measuring stick to see how he stacked up against that competition.
He likely burned some bridges after electing to play in the USHL after being a top 10 pick in the OHL draft.

Maybe he's still around when the Flames are using the Canucks pick?

I don't see any chance if that. I have seen him as high as #10 now, I don't think he gets past 15 at latest.

Yeah but you just never know as every year good players slide as Moore and Perreault fell into the laps of the Hawks and Rangers last season. Not saying I think it will happen but it's not an impossibility either.

Sure, it isn't impossible but that is a hell of a lot for Hage to slide to the Canucks pick. He was one of the fastest rising players in the 2nd half and he is a centre.

I'm getting on the Helenius train if Lindstrom is a long term injury risk.
Ppl should watch Elite prospects breakdown of his game. He's absolutely 100 percent a Flames type player.
His IQ is probably top of the draft. And his dogged work ethic shows. And he's not shy about attacking the dirty areas.
Yup.

Have mentioned him a few times. He is listed at 5 11 and 180 lbs which would put him at a playing weight of 190 to 195. Thats pretty stocky on that frame. I think he would look good in a flames uni if a few other names arent there.

Conroy did say he was headed to Finland right away to do some scouting. I’m sure Helenius is the main guy he’s watching.

Imo no but that’s just because I think you need a number one center like Toews to win a cup. But Demidovs ceiling is crazy high. The guys a magician

That does seem like a reasonable list of comparables as far as potential ceilings. I’ve heard some of these comparisons from others. Obviously it’s a big win if you get any of these guys and they turn into that player (except for Solyaev if he goes in the top 10).

I think we're dramatically underselling celebrini. He is a really interesting prospect and way above the rest of the field this year. He has the highest scoring 16 year old season in the ushl ever and the highest scoring 17 year old season in the ncaa ever over the last two years, and he's being billed a 2 way player. Almost 2 points a game in college and he can't even legally buy a beer in Canada. Toews had just over a ppg as an 18 year old in college. His Shattuck numbers were also pretty crazy.
I think hes got better offensive upside than is being discussed.
