I agree but I thought we were talking about Hansen?

Last 3 seasons he has 84 points/40 goals in 167 games, which is basically a 20/20 guy

that's also basically all at even strength, plus he's a great penalty killer, he has speed

if he gets moved he's going to be a great middle six player for a contender, who can play with the top line if needed

From Friedman's 30 thoughts:
http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/3...open-business/

a few teams reached out to Detroit about Athanasiou but were told not to bother asking unless a 22 year old top D-man was in the return
Red Wings won't move young offensive cornerstones unless they get that type of player back. Same goes for Mrazek
Vanek will likely get traded and come back in the offseason

not certain that Detroit will trade Mike Green

no contract talks between Eaves and Stars, might also come back to Dallas in the offseason

some GMs are leery of Oduya's ankle

Panthers looking for PP help - word is they looked at Perrault

Thinks Pittsburgh was on Michael Stone, but they needed to wait for cap reasons. Hainsey might make sense for them now

Treliving is looking for a winger preferably someone with edge

Some teams think they won't be able to trade for Duchene or Landeskog and still be able to compete for the Cup

Avs looking for a new home for Grigorenko

Scouts watching the Avs have been praising Matt Nieto

Sens not going to give away Lazar for a mid round pick - would rather stand pat

Winger with an edge? That rules out PAP AND Vanek. Maybe Eaves? I don't know if he's that gritty.

Regardless, unless this team goes like 4-0 before the deadline I don't think it's time to move any 2nds or decent prospects quite yet. This team still needs more picks going forward rather than less.

Much rather see them go after a 3L center so they can move Bennett to the wing.

I really don't think Treliving is going after a rental. Our organizational depth has a huge hole when it comes to a top 6 winger that we won't be able to fill from within. I'd bet he's looking long and hard at the big names (Landeskog, Kane) that could be here for a number of years.

The more I think about it the more Landeskog makes sense over Duchene

I was thinking something small. I'd be thrilled with a big acquisition like that but scared what it will cost.

I don't think the Flames can afford to wait any longer for players in the system to round into top 6 players.

Landeskog is the right age group. If the Flames are insistent on Bennett as a centre, which they appear to be, then I think Landeskog is the best winger out there/available to get.

If the price is just too steep would not surprise me at all if Kane showed up, but i think he will be a last ditch consolation prize if the Flames can't acquire a better player.

Landeskog is a real POS. I think he'd be a nice long-term fit on this team.

Who would they trade for Landy if Bennett isn't on the table? The price for Landy will be very very high and if Bennett isn't on the table I don't know if it could get done. Kylington or Rasmus would be nice peices in any trade but they are still unproven, I don't see how the Flames could get Landy without trading Bennett.

Winger with edge? Like what brouwer was touted to be? Can we just trade brouwer for hudler or a similar skilled winger instead please.

Brodie maybe?

A package?

Avs are reportedly looking for defenders.

Quick question to the people on this board. If the Flames were seriously considering trading for Landy or Duchene who exactly is on the table? I really don't see the Flames doing either as I don't think they are gonna trade Sam but if Sam isn't in the trade who the hell is?

I was under the notion that Brodie is a little older to what they want and is still untouchable as far as the Flames are concerned. Obviously every player has a price but I don't see Brodie getting fair value from Colorado unless they throw in their 1st round pick plus a winger. I'm really just thinking out loud here but I don't think this team is a good trading partner with the Avs. I would love to add one of those wingers, and having Tkachuk and Landy on the same team after Landy was often used as a comparable for Tkachuk would be lots of fun but I honestly don't see how the Flames do it if Bennett isn't going the other way.

Nobody is. Not only can I not see the Flames going after either of those guys, I don't think either guy moves because the asking price is reportedly insane.I would imagine from Sakic's POV it would start with Brodie, then add.

I think the Flames go after Leo Komarov. Something like Wideman + Chiasson + 3rd for him.

Rumoured asking price from Colorado is 3-4 quality pieces, with interest in defensive prospects and possibly a goalie prospect.

With that in mind, I wonder if something heavy on the picks would draw interest? I'd part with the 1st in '17 + 1st in '18 ++ in a package for Landeskog.
