So three guys in 24 hours saved four match points and won between Denis, Schwartzman and Monf. And Zverev saved three himself and won, including a 49 shot rally on MP#2. It's been a remarkably entertaining tournament so far.

The toss is the most important part of the serve as far as ensuring you are able to direct the ball where you need it to go. When your wrist is taped up and sore, obviously your entire motion and toss point is going to be way off. This is evident in the fact that Milos could barely muster one ace....something they were noting he has never done before. He could clearly not even come close to hitting his normal two handed backhand, which in itself was a kiss of death.

I give him a ton of credit for going out there and giving it an honest try. Unlike his counterpart, Bouchard, who would rather slink into a hole and hide, it shows a lot of guts.

I'd agree with that assessment. This kid is going to finish the year inside the top 100, a massive accomplishment in your first year on tour. The most impressive thing about his game right now is the fact that he's doing it with pretty average service numbers. Once that begins to crawl upwards, he's going to be an extremely tough out.

Bautista-Agut saved 1 match point against Monfils and won.

Polansky is probably wondering where this Federer was yesterday.

Ferrer takes the first set 6-4 with a second break of the Fed serve in that opening set.

They said on the broadcast it was to Tommy Haas back in the spring - If I heard correctly, he had won 32 consecutive sets before dropping that opening set to Ferrer.

Fed looking better in that 2nd set, but still not the Fed we're used to seeing.

not able to watch right now, but how much is Fed having a bad day vs Ferrer randomly finding his own old man strength? Fed seems to not be having many easy service games based on scoreboard.

For comparison, Fed had 16 unforced errors total in the match against Polansky yesterday. I think he had that same number of unforced errors in the first set against Ferrer. Fed cleaned things up quite a bit in the 2nd set however.

Venus Williams is getting absolutely dismantled by Svitolina - nearly bageled in the first set before falling 2-6, and down a break in the second.

Kyrgios is rapidly heading toward the exit in Montreal, but at least he put in an effort this year now that he's no longer obsessed by Pokemon Go.

Main event is up next. With how wide ass open this draw is, a win for Denis and who knows what could happen?

Denis is certainly not tentative, back-to-back winners to level the match 3-all in the opening set.

One loose service game from Denis and Rafa rolled from there to take the opening set 6-3. Shapo is playing some fine tennis though.

Shapovalov was an 18-year-old kid for two games in the first set, and a pro with a ton of talent in the other seven. Amazing to see how much his game has grown since his debut last year. Putting up a great fight tonight.
