Kostka has been great since the trade:

Before trade: 1 G / 11 A / 12 Pts / 46 GP / -33

Since trade: 2 G / 5 A / 7 Pts / 4 GP / +5

Looks like Thor found his hammer

and that should do it. Vey gets an empty net goal 7-4 Heat.

3 stars:
1. Kostka
2. Frattin
3. Vey

Jankowski is on a tear at the right time for the Heat. 17 pts in his last 9 games.

Over cooking prospects has nothing to do with Poirier or Shinkaruk. They would be better if playing in the NHL right now? No way. It's too bad they look to be done, and you can look at how Flames develop prospects, but neither player would be better if playing in NHL.

As for no recent top 6 forwards, maybe Ferland?

Disappointed it doesn't appear Jankowski will get NHL time but Flames have. Even remarkably healthy.

If a forward goes down Lazar is next in line no doubt but after him Janko has made a case to be called up with out question. Right now him being thee guy in Stockton is doing wonders for his growth and it appears to be that he likes being a big-time guy during crunch time.

He's a full timer in the NHL next year imo

Anyway nice to see the kids do well.

Maybe I'm wrong but I could see that leading to a lot of eye rolling in the broadcast booth.

Stockton up 1-0 by a nifty pass from Shinkaruk to Jankowski who scores.

Looks like Aulie threw a dirty game misconduct elbow.

47 mins in penalties after one period

You know they have the ability but just lose all confidence and fall off a cliff.

It's why I'm wary of what Janko and Mangia are doing this year. Looked like we had something in those other two and then they just crumble into nothing.

Get them to the NHL stat!

Heat have a chance to move into a playoff spot with a win and Condor loss
both games currently tied

Heat 1-1 in their game, 2nd period
Condors 3-3 in their game, 2nd period

Look for the next game between those two teams in a couple weeks to get ugly, not much out there on Janko fighting except a Barracudas media guy saying he got fed... fight took place after the plug took a high sticking penalty on Janko. Maybe it wasn't that bad of an incident at all as I can't see it but a rookie who is leading your team in scoring gets high sticked and beat up with 50 seconds left in a game... that's about as much bad blood as you can create on another team short of blindsiding a guy.

Last night's game was very chippy. Jankowski was speared toward the end of the second which led to him getting a 10 min. misconduct.

Bollig got into a fight with Stortini (yes, that Stortini) after that latter seemed to run Rittich (from my view).

Jankowski got into the fight near the end of the third. Took a crosshcheck and then a swipe at the head (no call from either). I think the fight was a draw.

The Heat seemed frustrated; lots of no-look backwards passing to nobody; lots of attempted passes between two defenders. Kylington had a bad game.
