Part 1 of our mock.

As always, clicking the player name gives a full scouting report.

If either the oilers or the canucks were bright enough to take a Defensemen, the Flames would be on ice cream street. That mock is about as close to perfect as we could hope for.

All goalies that went in the early 2nd (or 1st for Vas) that have turned out decently well
I would take any one of these even late first round over picks like Klimchuk and even Poirier. Good goalies are generally home grown, and we truly only have Gillies who is still far away.

He might be that guy who has talent and is just stuck without the opportunity. Different player late in the year with Jones and Beirsha than he was early.

If the Flames hold onto their late 2nds Day might be a decent guy to take a gamble on. Very much like Kylington. Except a 6'3 230lb Kylington.

Despite his size and skills Day may not have been ready for the OHL speed at 15 years old. Here it says he rushes things when he actually has time. This could be a carryover from his introduction to junior hockey, it's become a habit and he hasn't yet become comfortable.

Quote:
He handles the puck well, but still seems to rush things a little too much when under pressure, not realizing the time and space that he has.
I'd like to take a chance on him if he's available.
