If I'm already on GPON, does upgrading to 50 require an onsite visit?

Anyone have issues with their Telus internet? I have 25 Mbps service but randomly my internet will crap out. It happens pretty frequently. 600 ms ping, 0.8 Mbps download and 0.15 Mbps upload.

Ughh...

When I call they say I am eligible but will lose my promo pricing if I move from 25mbps to 50mbps?! I am happy to pay the extra ~$10 a month - the difference between 25 and 50 mbps - but why would I lose my sign up promo pricing?!

Off topic maybe a little. I still don't have a pvr, but have been with Telus for years. They say a pvr would be a hundred bucks for the install. Is this my best bet? Thx

Until May 2nd the PVR is 99$ to buy from London Drugs so you could do that with no istall fee. Works out to the same but no rental feesor need to sign a new contract.

Rate increase from march kicked in, mine increase by another $8. This is getting ridiculous, in the year and half i've been with telus, only twice has my bill been at the price point i'd signed up with.

Got a letter today from telus that they will continue to let me have my rental box I got for signing a tree year contract for free rental after my term is up and don't need to sign a new contract!

What's involved with moving the Telus wireless router? Currently it's in my laundry room but I would like to move it to the same location as my TV (and PVR). Is it as simple as unplugging it and moving it? It seems to have a coaxial plugged into. Can I just a cable splitter?

Depends if that location is currently using coax to feed it and if there is a phone line near by.

Has anyone had this happen to them?

When I try to go to my recorded programs, the pvr shuts off and the green led indicator blinks and the screen goes blank. I have to unplug the pvr for about a minute and it re-initializes.

How do i fix this? I can't find anything on it on the Telus FAQs. Is this worth a service call?

Ya better make a service call, sounds like the PVR is on its way out.

Got an upgrade to the 50 last week.

Seems pretty fast, but to be honest I haven't really noticed THAT much improvement over the 15 I was on before... BOOOOO
