Did anyone else feel the bass from miles away from the concert?

My wife went and said the first thing she saw as she walked in Saturday afternoon was two druggies getting treated by paramedics

I mean I'm no fan of EDM, but that's probably a bit over the top.

Nah, it's a great festival, although I haven't gone since they moved it to Max Bell. I wish they would bring back Above and Beyond. Tiesto is good but it's getting a bit old having him every year.

US and European festivals have ruined small festivals like chasing summer for me. This was the first year I didnt go, wasn't impressed by the lineup, and the whole lack of shelter last year was brutal.

I hated this festival when it was at Fort Calgary. The bass was so loud it moved my daughters crib the first year they held it there.

I started going out of town just to avoid it.

The first year of CS was pretty fun since Calgary hadn't had a dance festival like that in forever. But after last years debacle, I'm honestly surprised they came back. Complete incompetence on the part of the promoters and mostly the attendees .

Last year was the perfect portrayal of why these large EDM festivals here have a long way to go before they can even catch a whiff of the success the European festivals do.

What makes this festival more of a disgrace than others?

Dontcha know? No one has ever drank themselves to needing paramedics at the Stampede. Good ol' fashioned safe partying, none of this disgraceful stuff.

From personal experience, you know, as a Paramedic, I would take someone drunk any day over most drugs that we pick people up on. The drunks for the most part at their worst are just uncoordinated #######s who puke all over and fall asleep. The ones on drugs manage to find superhuman strength more often than not, and they end up fighting and subsequently being put to sleep by more of my drugs. I've never been struck by a drunk, but more often than I can count I've been punched, kicked, spit on, bitten by someone on drugs (usually during the process of restraining them). It can be crack, cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, MDMA, meth. At least with heroin and fentanyl I can control the degree they are coming out of it, but I have had people come out only to have to be put back down again....

Maybe i'm a bit out of touch with the EDM festival crowd but I'm guessing that crack, heroin and fentanyl aren't exactly big time rave drugs.

I'd assume 95% of the drug related issues were mdma. Maybe a few people getting sick from taking shrooms or LSD.
