Forrest Fenn treasure - $2 million in gold hidden in Rocky Mountains
Anyone been following this? This has been back in the news after some recent deaths potentially associated with hunting for the gold.
Heres a recent article explaining the story behind the treasure and the first of the recent deaths.
http://people.com/human-interest/for...t-controversy/
Link to Fenn's webpage with the treasure info: http://www.oldsantafetradingco.com/t...-resource-page
Quote:
This poem written by Forrest Fenn contains nine clues that if followed precisely, will lead to the end of his rainbow and the treasure. Happy Hunting!
As I have gone alone in there
And with my treasures bold,
I can keep my secret where,
And hint of riches new and old.
Begin it where warm waters halt
And take it in the canyon down,
Not far, but too far to walk.
Put in below the home of Brown.
From there it's no place for the meek,
The end is ever drawing nigh;
There'll be no paddle up your creek,
Just heavy loads and water high.
If you've been wise and found the blaze,
Look quickly down, your quest to cease,
But tarry scant with marvel gaze,
Just take the chest and go in peace.
So why is it that I must go
And leave my trove for all to seek?
The answers I already know,
I've done it tired, and now I'm weak.
So hear me all and listen good,
Your effort will be worth the cold.
If you are brave and in the wood
I give you title to the gold.

Fenn's alleged treasure is a great way to get publicity and feel important.

Without really thinking too much about it, he's alluding that he's old and can't keep up, but he somehow puts his treasure in a place where is trying to get to? Call me crazy, but I think this one is a hoax.

Your first sentence makes no sense to me. Did you miss some words or something?

Read up on this about a year back. Could be a hoax, but can't be proven to be a hoax unless he admits it. It's taken on quite a life of its own, and it's not beyond be realm of possibility to imagine someone doing this.
You'd hope that if it was a hoax, he'd fess up once people start getting hurt/die.

Is American gold worth 1.25 times more than Canadian gold?

The title is stating it's in the US part of the Rocky Mountains, if that's what you're referring to.

"the home of Brown"
Suggests a stream in Montana possibly, where Brown trout reside.

I'd need to know more about the poet. Was he a prankster? Generous? A giant dick?

This had me rolling. LOL
Talk about a show that somehow has survived this many seasons recycling the same dramatic "I THINK WE'VE FOUND SOMETHING" splurges 20-30 times an episode.

He doesn't say who found it, where they found it or give any other information
I think it was a hoax and he doesn't want anymore people getting hurt and dying looking for it
I'd love for it to be real. I would want to know where it was and get an explanation of each line in the poem
