I hope nobody was planning on taking 14th street or Elbow Drive north to downtown. They're both parking lots. Some genius in the roads department must have figured this is a non-work day, because 14th street is down to one lane going north. Took me 35 min to get from Southland to Heritage.

When I cut over to Elbow to drop my kids off, it was just as jammed. Felt bad for all the families standing at bus stops in their western gear. They'd probably been waiting for more than half an hour and it was going to take them at least another hour or more to get downtown. Sorry, no parade for you this year.

Finally came out of my office to check out the parade around 10:30, that was the first group I saw once I got there. Yep, totally cool, including the 360 spins a couple of em were doing in them.

It was actually a tough way to start, because everything after that seemed lame in comparison haha

It would be assume if they could extend the parade route one more block west to 11 street. There would be lots of nice spots to watch the parade from in front of Mewata, the old science centre and the grassy knoll at 6th and 11th.
