My wife shared the story on Facebook. Crazy how someone can go missing for that long. Hope he is safe.

Not really. A city is pretty big, and pretty easy to disappear into, if one wants to.

He doesn't want to - he's sick. He must be terrified.

Bump to say the family is now offering a $10,000 reward. Saw it on new posters they'd put up yesterday when driving through Elbow Park.

Really breaks my heart, I can't imagine what they're going through right now.

Sad news as police confirming his body was found yesterday. Foul play not suspected.

No news on where he was located.

It's not the outcome anyone wanted but, in my opinion, it's better than not knowing at all. That kind of mystery would tear me apart.

We were in BC in May when they were searching for a 57 year old teacher who went missing on a hike. They still haven't found him and it's likely he fell in a heavy flow river and was swept away.

From a practical (heartless?) perspective, insurance companies, banks, etc would probably drag their feet on any payouts or transfers if the person was to remain missing.

So sad to hear the body was found near his home too. Based on the description from the family it sounds like he might have gotten close to home but was confused on exactly how to get to the right house.

Yup. June 2 weekend.

I felt guilty being on a golf trip while others were searching for the teacher.

yep...Kinda surreal crossing that river two times a round wondering if you would see a body floating past...

I still don't think he's been found.
