Default The Makers Thread

Are there any other self described makers in this community? I figured this would be a cool thread to share any and all types of things you have made yourself.

Immediately, I think of Puppet Guys models and was wondering if others tackle interesting projects.

I don't care if it professional work or your first time putting together a kinder egg.

What kinds of things have you made?

I'll start by sharing a project I made for the playoff run a couple years back. A couple of CPers helped me out with a few aspects of the project. I'm really happy with how it turned out - if we could only just get ourselves invited to the dance again...

I made this:

Awesome thread idea. This winter has been all about installing shop lighting, heating and building shop furniture, but this is something that I built last summer for my wife's garden. It's not fancy, but it was a good start to the shop.

And on the commercial side, and at risk of outing myself, this was my design. I didn't build it, but I did manage the project from conception to completion.

Sorry, I don't know the first thing about resizing pictures on here.

I try to do as much as I can whenever I can.

Last spring my brother and I made some custom boxes/cupboards for my garage. I'm currently working on completing a Walnut dining table. I'm finishing it with Tung oil right now and I'm hoping that by this weekend the table will be ready to go.

Man, I consider it a huge accomplishment when I put IKEA furniture together successfully.

I might have posted this before in another thread, but it's my most recent figure. Inspired by the original Clash of the Titans:

Spoiler!

Made this last spring. From the old movie Dragonslayer:

Do you build these from models or are they from scratch?

I once whittled a boat out of a slightly larger boat...it was almost as good as the real thing, but it was covered in bumpy whittle marks and had no paint, as I'd whittled it off:

Did four coats on the base/legs. I just put on the third coat for the table top this afternoon. My going to try six coats on the top but I'll do more if it doesn't look right.

Does it have to be physically made?

My 3D work which includes a 3D Kipper and Flames zamboni. Unfortunately I made it before the PS4 and Xbox One were released so it's too low poly for today's standards and my instructor from EA couldn't tell me what it should be.

A quick little project that I made for Christmas. Got this tile when we were in Portugal, so turned it into a hotplate. Thanks to Bigtime for the hookup on the oak! Also, dadoing oak is hard. Doing anything with oak is hard.

The Dragonslayer model was from a kit with some aftermarket stuff added for the base (I could NEVER scratchbuild something like that), while The Ferryman was a scratch job, made out of Sculpey, wire and various bits of garbage.

I've done more scratchbuilding in the past little while, which actually grew out of building the kits - started building stands which led to diorama which led to sculpting. I'm right now building a boat kit which'll have a sea-like base to it.

I made this Canoe over the course of 18 months. It weighs 34 pounds.

After that I started making Kids. They are far more beautiful than this boat.
