Alexander Graham Bell Museum was insanely busy today. I've never seen it that busy even on school tour days.

Frankly, I think it's great we're experiencing our country and its parks.

Also at the Fortress of Louisboug 2 weeks ago I met Alex Trebek. Canada 150 is awesome.

In all my life I never realized that they were cost prohibitive.

I think the tier B stuff was over priced. The Bar U ranch, Frank Slide etc are really cool sites but the dollars per hour were high for what they were. The real parks though I have always though are a great deal. $140 bucks for a summer and winter playground. People pay 3 times that in fees for their crappy neighbourhood lake.

I knew this year would be a gong show but not to this extent. I always buy the annual pass so hiking in national parks is never a second thought but for the casual hiker, it makes sense to hike in national parks this year. I sense a lot of people are checking out Waterton for the first time as well, hence the massive increase. I've completely avoided Banff and Lake Louise this year, figured next year will be a lot more quieter with everyone checking it out this year.

If anyone is looking for a nice quiet place, for me personally I have noticed K country to be relatively quiet compared to other years. I'm assuming everyone is at the national parks. My last two hikes I encountered 4 groups all together which is pretty rare during the times I go.

I'm a groomsman at a friend's wedding at the end of August in Waterton.

I can't imagine they are turning people back who are going to an event in Waterton (and have hotel reservations), are they?

I think they were letting people through who could show proof of booking.
