My HTC M8 is getting long in the tooth. One of these days I'll have to upgrade and this is really the only phone I'd want to replace it I think.
I will start by saying that I have always been a Samsung guy and have owned most of them from the S6 up to the Note 7. So, my bar may be low...
I love my Pixel XL. Easily the best Android phone I have ever owned. The performance is fantastic, camera is great, and everything just plain works as it should, right out of the box. I am used to doing all sorts of things to remove or disable the Samsung bloat, so going to stock Android was refreshing. It may sound weird, but my favourite thing is the fingerprint reader on the back. At first, I thought it was weird, but now it feels completely natural. The speed in which it reads your finger and unlocked the screen is something to behold.
The battery is solid for me. I'm a fairly heavy user and lean towards the business end of things. So maybe 100 emails daily (Outlook), heavy use of the calendar, a call or two, and a ton of Slack/SMS use per day. I also take a ton of pictures and use social media sparingly. I don't really play any games on my phone. On average, my battery is right around 50% when I go to bed, which is typically an 18 hour day. I use Google maps navigation a lot, but the phone is plugged in during this time.
It should also be noted that I am pretty much stock, other than Outlook for work. No launchers or anything as I really love the Pixel launcher with Nougat.
Honestly, I would recommend this phone to anyone as Google really nailed it.
