Default Best pizza in town?

Sorry if this is a repost, did a search of the word pizza and nothing showed up.

I am sad to admit I have never eaten at a independent pizza joint in Calgary, and i've lived here my entire life. I live in the deep suburbs of the NW and the closest thing to a local chain near me is pizza 73.

Anyone know of an amazing mom and pop pizza restaurant? I'm tired of ordering from huge franchises that use toppings containing 30% plastic. Im willing to drive a fair ways to try a good place.

What's your favourite son?

All the chains I've tried here suck. Haven't had a good slice of pizza since I went to Toronto.

Not really sure about this either.

I loved Crispy crust pizza in Woodbine, add some parm and chili peppers on their pepperoni pizza = heaven.

Nice family that runs it too, they offer some other family food that is awesome, highly recommended.

Mitilini's (not sure of spelling) in Silver Springs is the best imho. I think it's owned by the same people who own Matadors in Varsity, but the pizza is just incredible. Every Sunday it's half price pizza for dine in customers.

If you just want a slice Verona's in TD square is great. If you like a ton of toppings Verns is also pretty good but not for everyone.

I recently tried Niko's pizza in the beltline. I thought it was very good. The steak, chicken and beef pizza intrigues me and I will be trying that one next, but this place is a new favourite.
