Lack of hitting with RISP the reason they lost this one.

Estrada was good
Pen was good (even Grilli other than that pitch)
Bautista isn't awful at defense
Pearce can hit

Oh well. Always sucks to lose the first game but it's all good.

12 men lost on base.

Lose in 11 innings.

Clutch up.

It's been a long season so far. Gotta give the guys a break now and then.

There is almost always a day off after the opening day game. I believe it is in case of a rain delay.

When do you think Russell Martin gets his first hit? May?

6 total runs against and they are 0-2.

Morales, Bautista, Tulo, and Martin have two hits combined - not good for your 3-6 hitters.

Guess the positives is the pitching looks good again, and the rest of the lineup is getting on base.

Yeah, good pitching, getting on base, just not driving them in.

Now we gotta go 90-70 to get 90 wins. :P

Luke Maile to the Jays apparently? According to MLBTR. Know nothing about him, but don't the Jays already have 2 catchers?

Hmm. He's played a bit of 1B as well, not a lot but some. Or maybe they like him better than Salty as back up C?

I'm thinking they are working toward a 1B plan (or hoping more so). I don't see Martin moving any time soon and they were fairly high on Salty during the preseason. It's a curious move

Wonder if Martin is hurt, he took a pitch off his bare hand yesterday.

He stayed in the game, but who knows...
