James is forever a tool. While I don't give Griffin much credit as he had Lebron the player, Lebron the person has no idea about personnel moves to play GM. All he knows is "get me superstars to play with". That's not easy.

Reports out there that Lowry has "zero interest" in re-signing with the Raps. If true hopefully they can work out a sign and trade and get a trade exception or a pick.

And Lowry's apparently denying this on his personal twitter account. We'll see how this turns out later.

I'm guessing he wasn't offered the max and isn't happy about it. But if he goes to market he isn't going to get it either, so he's got a decision to make I suppose.

If Porzingas is available, is there any chance to get him through a sign and trade for Lowry?

Why would New York? Why not keep their 7'3 franchise forward that is scoring and rebounding at his age at a pace that has only been done 10 times. 7 of those players are in the HOF and the other three are KP along with Duncan and AD. They'd be better off Keeping KP and drafting Fox / DSJ or Ntilikina.
But there is word that Phil Jackson is auctioning off KP and wants to bring in Lauri Markkanen in the draft. Can't see Toronto having any asset worth KP though. Boston maybe.

The Nets/Lakers trade is solid for both. I like Russell, but he needs a more stable environment and reasonable expectations, and Atkinson is a great developmental coach for him.
I got no idea why NYK would be looking for a trade for Porzingas. If it were me, I'd get him in a face to face meeting, apologize for the circus, promise him you want to make him the face of your franchise, and then back that up with moves that are based around building a young core complimentary to his unique skillset, including moving Carmelo regardless of the return.

Lakers trading Mozgov alone is a borderline miracle. I'm not really high on Russell so I think it's worth giving him up to get the cap space. Obviously George is probably going there now, but makes no sense to give up more assets to get him. So I suspect the cap move is for someone else, maybe Lowry.
As for Porzingis, I cannot actually believe he's available, but if he is the Raps might have a decent package to put together, but probably not enough to fend off some other teams who have better picks/prospects to trade. Also obviously more expensive as an in-division trade.

@WojverticalNBA:
Sources: Charlotte is sending Miles Plumlee, Marco Belenelli and 41st pick to Atlanta for Dwight Howard and 31st pick.

DeAndre Jordan is apparently on the trading block. NBA all of a sudden has a way more intriguing hot stove than hockey, when did this happen?

@WojVerticalNBA:
Chicago is finalizing a deal to send Jimmy Butler to Minnesota for Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn and No. 7 pick, league source says.

Got an alert about an hour ago saying Raps were looking to trade Jonas with their first round pick.

That is a phenomenal trade for the Wolves. Celtics are simply cheap to not be willing to top that. I think it vaults the Wolves right to number 3 out West. And I think Houston needs to seriously consider dealing Harden. His value will never be higher, and you're now the fourth best team in a one and a half team conference. Offer Harden to the Knicks for Porzingis and a couple firsts.

Chicago really didn't come off well in that deal. I'd have thought one or two extra first's would have been worth it, but this deal is kinda a head scratcher. LaVine isn't in the same breath.
