I am predicting that this will be like Apple's iPhone 4 in terms of popularity. I think it will bring enough new features that it will knock a lot of people off the fence who were thinking of getting one. Not to mention the people who were waiting for the second generation. I don't know what exactly it was with the iPhone 4, but I see those things everywhere. I am betting this will be the same tipping point for the iPad.
As for the specs, I am guess the same as everyone else. Higher resolution (not retina), faster processor, more RAM, more storage, front and rear camera, increment upgrades of other parts (speakers etc.), same price.
Things I would be interested to see, but I am not expecting would be a matte screen (make it remotely usable outside), lighter weight (doubtful with keeping current battery life), 7" screen size model (with $350-$400 price point).

Damn this is down to the wire. Are they announcing iOs 4.3 features tomorrow?
I need to buy 10-15 iPads for the car show, and need to know if the tethering option to iPhones will be a go. I don't want to blow an extra 150 bucks a pop if the 3G will be redundant to anyone with an iPhone already. As 10 of the guys getting them already have iPhones, but I don't want them to jailbreak these things.

Predictions: iOS 4.3 Released tomorrow. next iOs previewed.
iPad 2 release date. No resolution bump. RAM+Camera + minimal design difference (thinner etc).

This is exactly what I think too. No way the resolution is changing; they aren't fragmenting the market again this soon.

I hope the differences are more significant than those. I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy an iPad 2, but if it's barely an upgrade I'd just get a used original iPad.

This is exactly what I'm thinking.
A resolution change isn't likely without going to something that would allow easy pixel doubling (quadrupling, really) to keep compatibility with existing iPad apps. Same as with the iPhone4.

Supposedly you can not buy current gen iPads at best buy right now (at least online) so I guess there will not be a price drop on old models? I have til next Monday to return mine with no questions asked! Hopefully they get the new ones soon!

Yep. Anything more and I'd be surprised.
I'm quite a bit more excited for the iOS 4.3 and the iOS preview (neither 100% but my hopes are high in that category).

Online store is down, and there's a new tidbit from Macrumors...

In addition, Your Daily Apple claims that a listing for the second-generation iPad briefly appeared on Amazon's German site, listing a 1.2 GHz processor, camera, Thunderbolt connectivity, and an on-sale date of March 17th. We do not, however, necessarily believe this to be accurate inside information.

THunderbolt only connectivity is the kind of thing that Apple likes to do. It sort of guarantees that peripheral makers have to start making Thunderbolt devices.
Just like when the original iMac came out, with only USB connectivity, that was the jump start that USB needed.

I presume the 'immediate availability' people are hinting about it going to be limited to the US. Boo.

Does thunderbolt mean display port out as well? Or was that just for mbp's that have the backwords compatability. Be real nice to have an option to get video out without having to stream

Apple's stock is pretty still today. If the rumors are correct with the above mentioned features/upgrades, I won't be getting one and will likely be getting the Playbook. Apple IMO, underestimated how fast the market was going to come out with their own tablets, and has apparently made minimal upgrades on this one. Nothing to really knock your socks off, but more just a standard upgrade. Once you get past the apps and refined product, sometimes Apple products fall behind when it comes to specs, and I see this one in that realm. At least the rumor is that September will carry another iPad (3) with the retina display, which is what this one should have had to blow the socks of other products.
