I'm going to one right now! Sushi Ichiban on McLeod. Whatever you do, do NOT go to Sushi BBQ Inn across from SAIT. Just garbage food.

Wow, this is perfect timing. Was looking for something like this to go to tonight. Might just try this Sushi Ichiban later on.
Heard Sushi Tokyo has all you can eat as well.

Doesn't Yamato by Churchill do All-you-can-eat on the weekends? I love that restaurant!
P.S. Oh man Ichiban is the best. Their two item lunch specials are AWESOME.

Sumo in Eau Claire market has all you can eat.
Decent quality, for sure not as good as some other places in town. But then again, you're going for all you can eat, so it's quantity over quality!

At Sumo, I think its about $25. Includes most things on the menu. Sashimi, Sushi, tempura, soups, salads, teriyaki chicken, gyoza, yakisobas...
They say they charge for what you don't eat, so don't go too crazy!

Is there any place in Calgary where you can get all you can eat sashimi?
Do they limit you at sumo for the number of pieces?
Vancouver prob has the best all you can eat sushi in the world. Soooo good.

317 10 Avenue SW, Calgary - (403) 237-6889
it's been a while since anyone has mentioned it to me, so maybe better to call ahead and ask first.

This thread wins. I'm throwing that into the iphone right now. According to said iphone, there's also a location at Bow Trail and 37th NW. Pretty close for the NW dwellers. Can anybody confirm that both locations do the all you can eat?

NW - the one across from SAIT on 16th has all you can eat sushi.
Oops - KevanGuy does not recommend that one, and I have not tried it.

All all-you-can-eat places have rolls because they can pack in the rice and skimp on the fish. It's the places that let you order the sashimi that are the ones to find.
Does Sushi Ichiban allow sashimi? I don't normally do all you can eat, I just go to Globefish or Donburiya on 37th.

I believe Sakana Grill has all you can eat, but Sumo Lounge and Sushi Ichiban are also great.
I would say the best sushi in the city though is Sushi Zipang, located in Bridgeland. It isn't all you can eat though.

As a side note, almost all Sushi restaurants in Calgary are actually run by Chinese and Korean owners and kitchen staff and not Japanese.
How about a list of Sushi restaurants in Calgary that are actually Japanese?

The Japanese culture is not really one where people emmigrate much, those that do out go out of country usually do it to study and go back to Japan.
I would guess Calgary isn't that big a draw for Japanese either. Vancouver (and coastal places like Seattle, L.A. etc.) seem to have healthy Japanese populations though and many fantastic authentic Japanese restaurants...and by authentic I mean built into the side of a Japanese mom & pop grocery store right where the fresh fish come in and limited decoration but simple the best sushi I ever had.

I've been to the Sumo on 10th twice for all you can eat, and both times I feel like it was a miss. Some of their rolls are tasty, but their sushi is downright nasty.
But I think that's all personal opinion.
