And this for a position that you almost have to rotate if you’re playing 3 games in 8 days.

I'd take Canada's strikers for sure.
Sargent scored 2 goals in a Premier League game today, I wish we had a player who did that.

Their gold cup win with backups showed the depth they have. They have lots of depth, everywhere. It won’t be an issue for them.

Woohoo!

In all seriousness, I don't think you are incorrect. The US does have depth but again it's mediocre depth. Remember, the US didn't qualify in 2017. I'm not sure they are better in 2021. Also, CONCACAF as a whole seems to be going downhill with really only Canada trending in the right direction. I mean QATAR made the semis of our continental tournament. Costa Rica, Honduras and Panama are all down. Canada beat Costa Rica in the Gold Cup very comfortably without Davies, David or Borjan.

I don’t think we’ll win vs the U.S in Nashville. I feel that we’re susceptible on set pieces and that is a strength for the U.S.

I agree Concacaf is down overall, and our program is looking strong. A lot of things can still happen, including an injury to a key player or two for us, which can be devastating.

When will the squad be announced, and what excuse will Marcelo Flores have for declining the call up?

I would re-frame the question as "what has Marcelo Flores done to deserve a call up?".

Here's the American roster for this window. Don't see Canada getting a result in that game but they won't be completely outmatched.

Squad is out. Can't really think of any big omissions. No Arfield was to be expected. No Corbeanu or Millar but neither of them are better options in attack than who is there.

GK- Milan Borjan | SRB / FK Crvena zvezda (Red Star Belgrade)
GK- Maxime Crépeau | CAN / Vancouver Whitecaps FC
GK- James Pantemis | CAN / CF Montréal
CB- Doneil Henry | KOR / Suwon Samsung Bluewings
CB- Scott Kennedy | GER / SSV Jahn Regensburg
CB- Kamal Miller | CAN / CF Montréal
CB- Steven Vitória | POR / Moreirense FC
FB- Samuel Adekugbe | TUR / Hatayspor FC
FB- Alphonso Davies | GER / FC Bayern München
FB- Alistair Johnston | USA / Nashville SC
FB- Richie Laryea | CAN / Toronto FC
M- Stephen Eustáquio | POR / FC Paços de Ferreira
M- Liam Fraser | CAN / Toronto FC
M- Atiba Hutchinson | TUR / Beşiktaş JK
M- Mark-Anthony Kaye | USA / Colorado Rapids
M- Jonathan Osorio | CAN / Toronto FC
M- Samuel Piette | CAN / CF Montréal
M- David Wotherspoon | SCO / St. Johnstone FC
F- Tajon Buchanan | USA / New England Revolution
F- Lucas Cavallini | CAN / Vancouver Whitecaps FC
F- Jonathan David | FRA / Lille OSC
F- David Junior Hoilett | ENG / Reading FC
F- Cyle Larin | TUR / Beşiktaş JK

Does Davies actually play fullback for the NT? Why do they list him there.

Kind of. Canada plays a loose 5-3-2 or 3-5-2 so Davies is really the guy bombing up and down the left.

Does this mean Cavallini's injury isn't as bad as feared?

I just saw a promo that TSN will show the road game. USA-Canada on September 5.
Onesoccer will have the two home games.

Tomorrow's game will be on Sportsnet. Guess it's a big enough deal for the big networks to care!

Now that the game is on "free TV", let's see if people actually watch the game like they said they would.

I really hope OS puts Nigel Reed and not Gareth Wheeler on commentary but I feel like that's just wishful thinking on my part

In life, things that cannot be bought by money, can be bought with much more money.

No doubt the millions of views the matches will now get will “grow the game”

Sportsnet announced they are going to carry 13 of the 14 games. The other will be on TSN.

Great news.
