I got a call from a friend last night with a spare ticket.

Had nothing planned for today, so it made for a good day out.

For such a new stadium, the upper concourse at Wembley is total ####.

they are keen on McTominay too, apparently. Attaboy, Moysey - finally coming through for United.

Aw, I dont like seeing United getting some 'Get out of Jail Free' cards with someone actually giving them money for Maguire or McMidfield, I was hoping they'd just 'Phil Jones' them and backbench them forever.

Also, looks like Spurs being Spursy and rejecting another Kane bid.

Like...they realize that this guy is going to walk for free right? If someone is offering you 100M for 30-year-old Kane you should be starting the car!

Absolutely disgusting that Greenwood is back with United. It's really appalling that this sport seemingly has no consequences for these kinds of actions.

There were a couple tweets about him saying that he didn't get his day in court, so he didn't feel like he got to clear his name. Then some others that said he was training. I'll look here and see if I can find them again, but if that's the case it's just plain gross.

from what I've read, a decision hasn't been made by United yet. But I highly doubt he'll be with the team next season, it's an absolute PR nightmare and I just can't see them risk that. Personally, I don't want him anywhere near the team ever again, but either way, they'll have to make a call at some point. I think loaning him out is more likely than keeping him with the team, but you never know.

In other news, Julen Lopetegui is apparently out at Wolverhampton, just days before the start of the season. They are in serious FFP trouble and Lopetegui obviously hasn't been happy with the lack of transfers, so it looks like both sides agreed to part ways. I think Wolves are in big trouble this season, they've lost serious talent (Neves, Collins) without strengthening a squad that already had the worst offense of the league last season. Now Lopetegui (who's a pretty decent manager IMO) leaves right before the start of the season. Not ideal.

Not PL related, but man Wrexham's PR is insane. Front page of ESPN for a first round Caribou Cup match? Most people don't care about the Caribou Cup at all, let alone the first round, but here they are on the front page of the biggest sports website in the world.

Well....yeah. Their owners and their friends are kind of experts at PR.

Its a great story though, I really like it. In this day and age of giant Corporations and Petro-Clubs its kind of nice to have a small(ish), wholesome club story.

And at the end of the day Reynolds and McElhenney are really likable personalities.

Maguire is off to West Ham for £30m. Makes sense for everybody ... hope that works for him.

Hope Moyes goes for McTominay as well.

Oh my....West Ham are getting relegated.

"We've got 'Arry Maguire!!"

Uh huh...he'll be great in the Championship.

I'd imagine he'll be just fine. Parting ways was obviously the right call for everybody involved and he hasn't done himself any favors, but the way he's been turned into an internet meme still was pretty ridiculous. I think going to West Ham is the right move for him and I'd actually be more surprised if he didn't do well there.

Ward-Prowse is a decent piece of business too. That one will obviously suck for Southampton, but I'm happy he'll still play in the PL next season.

Prediction time. Here's what I put in last season's thread:

Winner: Manchester City (comfortably)

Top four: Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs

Golden Boot: Haaland

Relegated: Nottingham Forest, Brentford, Bournemouth

Surprise of the season: Newcastle challenge for top four

I was right about the winner, Golden Boot winner, and Newcastle "challenging" for the top four. Managed to pick three teams in my top four that finished 5th, 8th, and 12th (!). Additionally, all three of my relegation picks stayed up!

For this season:

Winner: Manchester City. They're head and shoulders above everyone else.

Golden Boot: Haaland, no prizes for picking him, I suppose

Top four: Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea

Surprise of the season: Aston Villa to finish sixth. Spurs to finish in the bottom half of the table if they sell Harry Kane, which looks very likely.

Breakout star of the season: Ian Maatsen. If he can get game time behind Ben Chilwell, he's going to impress a lot of people. He's already one of the best left-backs in England, and I think Chelsea might play him at left wing because you just can't leave such a talented player on the bench.

Relegation: Sheffield United and Luton look dead certain to go down. I don't see any turn of events that would lead to either one staying up. Sheffield United have lost their five best players from last season, and added nobody of note. Luton are just along for the ride and aren't going to try to stay up by spending big, which I can respect. I think Nottingham Forest's financial issues will catch up to them, and they'll be the third relegated team this season. The 18th spot in the table will come down to Forest and Wolves.

Bayern Munich have agreed a deal worth close to £100m to sign England captain Harry Kane from Tottenham.

Bayern are willing to pay £86m up front for Kane, with add-ons taking the deal close to £100m - a record for the club.

Kane now has a decision to make, with the forward understood to be leaning towards staying with Tottenham.
https://www.skysports.com/football/n...ngland-striker

Neville was saying on the overlap that he'd be shocked if Kane goes to Munich. Was saying that he would be surprised if Levy accepted any sort of offer as it would be handcuffing him and leave Kane open to saying okay I'll go for a hundred million but not to them. Leaving the door open for other clubs to swoop in with similar offers.

great deal for a player with one year left. Then again, without Kane I doubt they can even get top 10, so it's going to be interesting.
