Now lets hope they don't stop the investigation just because the head crook decides to throw himself on his sword. This is open season now. The Americans and the Swiss et. all should go after FIFA all out now. The media should be derailing the candidacy of anyone remotely connected to the present/past regime.

The FIFA infrastructue is already there, it just needs new leadership. Blatter's decision to resign is a step in the right direction. UEFA needs a platform and a candidate that's inclusive.
That is a measured response, and not inaccurate.
But I think Fifa being rotten to the core necessitates a fresh start. I'm not sure we'll see too much meaningful change even if the smartest & most pious man is elected president.
Wow. John Oliver's show should be fun next week with him wearing those ridiculous Adidas shoes and taking a bite out of everything on McDonald's dollar menu, while washing it down with a Bud Light Lime.
The Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little, and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while the Company is true. Go Flames Go!

Only issue is the distrust of UEFA if leads a new brand. UEFA would be better served to better influence the already existing brand. I don't believe that FIFA has been rotten for long. South Africa and Brazil were fine. It just got really bad with this asinine Russia/Qatar vote.
But that's just me, I'm a FIFA supporter.

South Africa was one of the worst World Cups I've ever watched, and FIFA's been rotten for longer than that.

Great, now just cancel WC 2018 to save the embarrssement.
I understand this issue with Qatar but what are the main issues with Russia getting the WCF?

New leadership will change nothing. It is rotten to the core. The infrastructre is broke and the system needs to change.

FIFA has been rotten for decades.
What already existing brand are you speaking of. The brand of corruption and kickbacks? A brand so strong that sponsors are considering pulling out?
The fact of the matter remains that whoever shells out the most $ or panders the most to Asia and Africa buys the Presidency.
My wishlist is they go after Blatter, and Platini and Qatar loses the WC.
So Australia, England, Japan and the States but forward completely bribe-free bids and didn't use any of their financial influence? All countries play the game and Russia simply won. Qatar, on the other hand, took it to another level.

FIFA is a World brand, I've already listed all it's accomplishments around the world in my original post.
It is not whoever shells out the most money, it's about development of the sport worldwide. Creating infrastructure to host events in the developing world (like Edmonton!).
It just got really really rotten with this regime. Sponsors are pulling out because this regime got so dirty. Qatar was the deathblow.
The opportunity is there to start again with what I believe to be a fair and inclusive European solution.

Jennings is an advocate of slow, methodical journalism. For half a century, the 71-year-old investigative reporter has been digging into complex, time-consuming stories about organized crime. In the 1980s, it was bad cops, the Thai heroin trade and the Italian mob. In the ’90s, he turned to sports, exposing corruption with the International Olympic Committee. For the past 15 years, Jennings has focused on the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), international soccer’s governing body
“I know that they are criminal scum, and I’ve known it for years,” he said. “And that is a thoughtful summation. That is not an insult. That is not throwing about wild words.”
“These scum have stolen the people’s sport. They’ve stolen it, the cynical thieving #######s,” he said. “So, yes, it’s nice to see the fear on their faces.”
He said that most sports reporters wouldn’t touch these subjects for fear of losing access to top officials and athletes, or because it simply took too much time and effort.
