She's a bigot because she wouldn't accommodate moving because the man refused to sit beside her because of her gender? Respect people ahead of religious customs.
One's right to swing one's fist ends where I begin. The same should go without saying for religion.

I assumed you were talking about the Hasidics in NYC. I don't have much to say other than you are probably imposing some of your own stereotypes on them.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Christine Flynn who had to say no when asked if she minds being moved seats.

They end up having a lot of kids, and secular atheists don't. Guess who is going to win in 50+ years?

This kind of stuff happens every day I bet. The only difference is she made a huge deal out of it and decided to harness the power of social media.

Haha, the classic "If you're not tolerant of my intolerance then you're the real bigot!" response.

I think being a good citizen entails some slight tolerance for marginal religious intolerance.

It's pretty sad that we still have large segments of society that are more upset when a woman complains about a blatant act of sexism than the actual act itself.

I agree that her "running to the media" for attention to this "great travesty" is pretty ridiculous as well.
Ranked by stupidity regarding this situation:
1. The religious man (not cause of how he handled the request, cause it doesn't sound like he did anything wrong. Just asked to change seats. He's stupid for believing in something so archaic and moronic)
2. The woman
Not on the list cause they didn't do anything wrong:
The airline/attendant

I think being a good citizen entails not intentionally marginalizing others based on their race, gender, or sexual orientation.

Discrimination is never marginal. He literally believes that women are 2nd class citizens. He BELIEVES with all of his heart that more than 50% of the population is beneath him.
How is that "marginal".

Clearly he is the marginal person here. The inconvenience to everyone involved was very slight, and is outweighed by the vast outpouring of anti-religious sentiment, that has, in this thread involved the recommendation that men of this kind be killed.

He is actually allowed to believe that, right. You know we do have a Charter that guarantees religious freedoms?

Agreed! The fact that this could in anyway be her fault baffles me. She was understanding in her explanation and is not asking for fame, money just a recognition that it was an error.

The outpouring of anti-religious sentiment is a direct result of him attempting to marginalize someone based on her gender. I honestly can't tell if you're being serious or just pulling a Poe on everyone.

Yep, just like we have the right to believe his religious beliefs make him a sexist assclown.
