He left early due to creative differences. I think the idea was to use the exterior trestle as kind of a hanging garden, which would have been very cool, but developers are cheap.

Yes those. I came across one that was not readily visible especially against the parched grass. I think they are incredibly dangerous a person or pet is going to run into one and do some serious damage.

By then Calgary next stadium would make that station extinct no?

Count me in as someone who thinks the copper/rusted steel look is attractive. That worn patina makes it look old and noble. I would be interested to find out what the consensus view of Calgarians would be.

Have to say a whole province full of Ketchup chips was used to make this building.

The big giant W is a bit much but the rest of that building is awesome. It really adds to the utterly boring Vancouver skyline.

Dunno why but I like it. Feels optimistic.

You know what would make me optimistic?
If they changed this thing ever so slightly once in a while, to give me a glimmer of hope of seeing something different.
Like once every 30 hours you would see the woman in the red dress from the matrix walk in and out of the frame.
Just enough to question my sanity after years and years of driving by it on my commute home!
I know there use to be green fricken laser beams coming from Shaw Millennium park around 2001 but no one ever remembers seeing them. I'm not crazy, I did see them in a drunken stupor on Canada Day. Not even google can back me up.
Sigh, maybe it's time to move...

I like the idea and the change from the ugly glass that fills their skyline like you mentioned but the rust color is kinda gross.
A dark red would be nice.

For some reason is reminds me of the Lloyd's Building.

How would you describe "rust color" to somebody who had never seen it?

I was thinking more along the lines of "dark red" or even "reddish-brown.'
My point being- it is a shade of dark red.

The colour of loneliness on crisp fall evening, the rust overtaken by loves cold hand, a siloete of once was and will never be any more. The hue of deaths knock rattles the red, knocking it back unto memories long ought forgotten.

Yes, they were there, but I thought they were white light beams, not green. I moved to Calgary in 2005 and those light beams were at Shaw Millennium then, but I have no clue when they disappeared - I'd guess around 2006-7. I live in Beltline and for a while, prior to development could see the site from our balcony.
