Read on the YYC Spotters Facebook page that the plan is to get all four done with the upgraded Boeing cabin. Priority one was getting them up here and into service before rotating out to do that.

Agree that it makes a world of difference though, it's a much more spacious experience to be on one versus the old 67 interior.

That's good to hear, you can't get anything in those old side bins - there's more room in a CRJ.

Super cheap flights to London right now thanks to Westjets sale!

Yesterday Westjet had $800 round trip flights to Gatwick so I checked Air Canada who had them beat and I paid $715 for round trip to Heathrow. This is for June/July too.

The Antonov 2 just got even better/cooler:

Quote:
The Siberian Research Institute of Aviation (SIBNIA) has test flown a highly modified Antonov An-2 with carbonfibre winglet-like braces and carbonfibre wing structures. This is to demonstrate the aerodynamic and structural changes planned for an An-2 replacement, Sukhoi has announced on 10 June 2015. The aircraft was equipped with a five-bladed turboprop engine, most probably the Honeywell TPE331 already installed on a modernized version of the An-2 that entered service in 2014. The autoclave-cured carbonfibre composite materials – including wing panels, spars and ribs – were produced by the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant. Sukhoi says the design change improved the speed of the An-2 by 50%, and testing also has shown the minimum flying speed of the aircraft is “close to zero”.

Buffalo Airways C46 down short of the field in Deline, NWT. Everyone ok, but looks like this classic bird could be a write-off:

It's strange how it only sounds right, though, when pronounced with the proper English accent. Can't say I've ever heard a pilot with a Scottish (or any other) accent at the controls of BA, but it just wouldn't sound right.

Is it just me, or does that black trim around the cockpit windows completely ruin the look of the nose?

Maybe I'm just biased, but I much prefer the look of the 787.

It looks like a racoon, and I kind of like it for the very reason that it is noticeably different from the 787 and other planes out there. Now that we are pretty much living in the age of 2 engine widebodies some variety in the form is most welcome.
