HAHAHAHAHA. And Mahogany at 183...? 3rd worst out of the 185 ranked... I get that it's a little far out, but really...?

That's bizarre. I like McKenzie Towne a lot. Pretty unique neighbourhood for Calgary.

I wonder if you see more deals in the NW because your practice is based in the NW. I would imagine a SE lawyer would close more SE deals. Maybe it doesn't work like that though, IDK.

My community ranked #11 - funny looking at their individual category rankings vs the overall:
So, not very high rankings in most categories (and I actually agree with the category rankings, I think). But then a sudden surge in the overall ranks. Makes no sense. I mean, I like where I live for many reasons, but it's missing so many things that there's no way it's 11 overall.

I like how McKenzie Towne is 37, but New Brighton is 175. They are basically the same damn community.

Quoted because some people obviously didn't read your post, and are complaining about this blatantly controversial list.
Lists are made to get page views. The worse they are the more they get shared, resulting in even more page views, so they make them awful on purpose. It's pure click bait.

I live in Varsity and it is a great community. Not #1 great though. It is a perfect mix of suburban and inner city. Great access to major routes and easy to access most of the city and also get out of the city quickly.

My point was not about the number of deals, but an observation on how fast NW homes are selling.
Trying to find stats for average days on the market for different areas of the city...

So what you're saying is that this is all your fault.

I think of it this way: if you had to spend an entire year without leaving the bounds of your community (notwithstanding medical emergencies), which one would leave you least insane? Ignoring whatever else might be in close proximity.
Mine does not have any entertainment venues, any gyms, any golf courses, any significant retail, or even a community centre. It does have a couple of low-end restaurants, gas stations, a liquor store, a 7/11, a relatively low crime rate, and lots of natural & manmade park space.
Despite being objectively "desirable" based on property values, the community itself has very little going for it. Its greatest asset is being near services in other communities, and near some major roads.

Sunnyside 27th.
Apparently our crime level is basically the crime wave montage from the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie now.

I'm pretty sure last year Windsor park was in the top 10.
This year? 184.
The only changes? A few more retail stores and restaurants.

There was a time where I used to go over the list and scratch my head wondering how the hell they came up with that order. Now I just don't care as I clicked the first few pages out of curiosity and closed the page. Troll me once shame on you, troll me twice shame on me.

I honestly think they generate the rankings randomly. And laugh their asses off while doing so.

As usual it's heavily slanted towards "who got ranked low last year and got in a huff" gets moved up, and those ranked high last year get moved down. The rest they shuffle and pick out of a hat.
Then they pass it off to some interns to false justify the top 10 further.

The lowest ranked community is 185, so since we are locked in at 175 we can truly say suck it to 10 other communities......
