Is there even a sliver of a chance they'll play at Commonwealth or BC Place? Or its a non starter because of the turf?

Probably a non-starter both because of turf and the fact that it's West. Players coming in from Europe, you're adding hours of flight time from Europe and within CONCACAF. I think it will be Toronto and Montreal for the 7 games. Hoping for a 3rd location.

One of these days I'd love to see Canada do a tour of the smaller stadiums for friendlies against some smaller nations. Come to Spruce Meadows, Halifax, places with real grass and play some of the smaller teams. Be a great way to build up interest and support.

Buchanan transfer agreement should be announced soon as per agent. One German team and two champions league teams in the running.

Our beloved national soccer association can be pinned blame for that over the years. Team results haven’t been great but having a strong business plan and strong message, you could have some proper corporate partners through thick and thin, which would want to advertise and then you’d have the national networks onboard and it would snowball.
Instead you have an arrogant impotent organization, with 10 plus board members, basking in the WC host-in waiting status and expecting sponsors to come out and kiss their feet and expect those sponsors to beg to be part in the MNT and WNT for that matter, for the upcoming WC, to line their pockets even more.
I do expect that maybe a national broadcaster will pick up some of the ONE Soccer feeds in some sort of arrangement if Canada kicks off the opening round with some results.

Nations League would be perfect for this, but CSA loves to milk it at BMO Field so probably no. Arrogant organization like browna just said.

Victor Montagliani talking about national team games on traditional TV. He mentions that in the past, the CSA has actually had to pay broadcasters to put national team games.
So when you have a Spanish company actually paying you for the rights to for national team games, that is the good business plan. Not paying to have games that no one watches anyways on cable.

But but but but but............Random Twitter Guy "These games need to be on TSN/Sportsnet to grow the game"
I could write a masters thesis on why this hasn't worked, and won't be the case in the future.

If Canada is good, people will watch and they could get paid for them. When Canada is bad, then broadcast on Two Soccer because no one wants to watch.

Let's see if TSN/Sportsnet decide whether they'd like to actually pay money for the product in the future instead of people saying "CSA with your limited finances, make it happen!" Like back in the days where the CSA had to pay to get their product on TV.
Im glad onesoccer stepped into the void. They have essentially guaranteed the survival of the CPL for their first few years with their huge investment, they also carry youth national team competitions involving Canada, Canadian womens games and other Concacaf games, both club and country.
TSN sure looks like they're going to ditch MLS once their contract expires, their numbers haven't really ever gone up.
I'm glad onesoccer is being rewarded for taking a chance on investing in Canadian soccer. It was a huge gamble, and they deserve to get the pay off of an improving CMNT.
I doubt CMNT, while improved, would move the meter at all for TSN/Sportsnet. We haven't made it to the world cup yet. Some extra soccer fans tuning in won't make a big difference.
Sick dig with "Two Soccer" though.

For the record i don't have any issue with how this played out and am not blaming one soccer or Canada soccer.
But there is no doubt that being on an actual tv channel that people watch would be beneficial now. If the men's team is competitive in WCQ, with the womans team likely to see further interest, one soccer's bet will pay off. But all things being equal, having people be able to watch games when there is interest for the first time in forever would be beneficial for Canada soccer.

US might be in tough their first 3 matches, including Sept 5 against Canada
Pulisic has COVID, no Zardes due to hamstring injury putting him on the shelf 2-4 weeks, Ream left his game early this week (no update), Arriola has a hamstring injury and did not play this week, Dike has not played since the Gold Cup, Jozy had foot surgery, Musah has an ankle injury and is still not back.

Tajon Buchanan is apparently about to sign with Club Brugge. Would be a good entry into Europe and the Champions League, without being too crazy of a jump up from MLS.

Pulisic would be a big loss, assuming he doesn’t play. The rest of them? Meh, they have lots of depth.

Do they? It's mediocre depth. The US has a striker problem. Sargent is playing mop-up duty for a relegation team, Pefok hasn’t played for a month, Zardes is hurt, Dike is hurt and Hoppe hasn’t played since the Gold Cup. And this for a position that you almost have to rotate if you’re playing 3 games in 8 days.
I'd take Canada's strikers for sure.

Premier League clubs have today reluctantly but unanimously decided not to release players for international matches played in red-list countries next month.
The clubs' decision, which is strongly supported by the Premier League, will apply to nearly 60 players from 19 Premier League clubs who are due to travel to 26 red-list countries in the September international window.

Effects Mexico, Panama, and Costa Rica. Apparently Jamaica may be added to the red list this week as well.

And it's official. 3.5 year deal with Brugge. Will finish the season with New England. Not sure if that's a loan back to New England or if the deal if effective January 2022.
