I always thought Caillou was a show produced by Health Canada designed to show preschoolers that children with cancer are just like other children. Seriously. I watched the show when I was a wee lad, and my understanding was that he went through several rounds of chemo, hence the baldness. I could be wrong, but my grandpa lost all his hair due to chemo around that time and that's the way it's been in my mind ever since.
I'm thinking I may have to ban T&B from my daughters viewing... It warps her imagination. She woke up from a nightmare last week and I asked her what in the dream was making her cry "there's a monster named Grunge that lives in my bum". I thought that was pretty effed up.
And Caillou is training her to be a whiny little bint. He might wind up on the banned list as well. Does that kid ever stop crying? And what's with the bald head at age 4? Does he have Charlie-Brown-itis?
Bubble Guppies rock! They alway have something that they're teaching them and they have the best song since Sesame Street.
Glad to see my hatred of Caillou isn't a weird thing.
Bubble Guppies is a good one, and even I enjoy the Octonauts because I get to learn about the ocean and stuff, plus they have some sort of Turnip like creatures called Vegimals that are pretty cool.
Even if you don't like Max & Ruby you have to admit Max has some sweet toys you would have killed for as a child.
"We're on a mission, in our favorite rocket ship! Goin through the sky. Little Einsteins!"
No better theme song than that one. Show gets kids involved with actions and they travel all around the world while listening to classical music. Darn good show!
The funny thing is I watched the first post and just let it unfold. I thought I'd learn something, at least of nerd culture. I still don't know what it is. Will I get addicted like Breaking Bad?
