It is a huge indictment of that franchise that it has taken this long for management to concede that they are not a playoff team. In any event, with Dim Benning at the helm selling assets in exchange for futures is still a massive challenge.

The Canucks are terrible.

Canuck Luck. Days before the trade deadline, a mumps outbreak in the dressing room. Will teams want to trade for a #Canucks player?

Don't teams mandate vaccinations? I mean, they've spent millions investing in these players.

Interesting given the Medicine Hat Tigers in the WHL also have a mumps outbreak on their hands. Wonder if there is a connection?

Don't teams typically quarantine ex-Canuck players for a few days as a standard practice any way? I don't think it's ever a good idea to just let them right into the dressing room without proper decontamination procedures.

Willie Desjardins! He just can't leave the Tigers alone.

That's a pretty touch subject, and I'm not sure an employer can force their employees to be vaccinated. (with possibly a few exceptions like military etc.)

I'm no lawyer but is that something you could stipulate in a contract where you're paying for their physical ability to perform a task at an elite level? Would be interesting to find an answer

Canucks should be fined by the league for intentionally tanking.

My Canucks fan friend messaged me saying that the five presenting symptoms: Tanev, Stecher, Granlund, Tryamkin and Chaput are also the 5 single guys on the team. Hahahahaha.

Sounds like the Wheat Kings and Oil Kings are also having a bit of an outbreak. Both played the Tigers prior to the diagnosis. It would be interesting to see if any of these teams were in a locker room or common area prior to the Canucks at one of the arenas where the WHL teams share the space with the NHL teams.

I know there are investigators that are able to track these outbreaks to the source. It would be really funny if there was a travelling puck bunny passing around the mumps. I guess that better than some of the other things you can pick up...

Yup - My father-in-law's brother contracted polio as a young kid, he was lucky it was a mild case, but do we really want to see the return of these types of diseases?
